This micro hi-fi is exceptional in looks, compactness, quality of sound. A real great buy for someone who wants quality.

- Not so much a bad point, you need time to set these speakers correct. Distance from wall and foam inserts make a massive differance.

Great kit. Dab is FAB and to play windows media files is just great!

+ I purchased this for a family members birthday as i own a Denon myself and i know that they are the best midi/mini systems about. This one i bought for my mum is a little deep, so you need a largish shelf but the sound is crystal and the bass for a machine of this size is deep and booming - if you want it to be. It looks the business and does far more than you would think. Its the best midi about by far.

- Quite a deep unit and the top-end price-wise for something of this size but well worth buying a new large shelf unit to take it and even paying that bit more. Top drawer.

+ Great mid-quality unit and you don't have to buy speakers with it (get some Wharfedale Diamonds to complete the kit).

- Not 'HiFi' in the true sense but it's great value for the sound and convenience you get.

+ Superb sound from a 'non-separates' system and at a decent price. Really compact, if you're short on space this is an excellent option. Far superior to the BOSE Wave system. Invest in an optional iPod dock (ASD-1R) and you'll get excellent sound to fill your room with downloaded music.

- Many functions need to be operated from the remote, however if you can live with this you won't have any worries.

+ It looks lovely and feels very well made. The speakers are very high quality and sound excellent. The tape deck is especially good with virtually no hiss on Dolby Mode and crystal clear reproduction.

- There's a special setting you can use to get good 'bassy' sound when playing music at low volume and the sound is also good at high volume. My only critisism is that when playing at mid-volume it can sound a little 'light'. Also, it doesn't have an 'auto off' function to turn the device off at the end of playing a CD or whatever.

- Complicated to programme beyond the basic level. Difficult to obtain additional items (i.e. tape deck). As it is installed in Ireland the non-optional DAB feature is no much use. Unit is deeper than I thought but otherwise compact.

+ I am a bit of a techophobe so had to get help to programme it but otherwise it is fine. I also had a tape deck and it is good. I had a problem getting the connector for the aerial as none of the hi-fi places knew what I was talking about - a lady in the local TV repair shop was instantly on the ball!!

+ Easy to use and configure. Bought fo digital radio but all features are excellent. Also Aux input for MP3 is very useful. FM reception is also very good. Does what I would expect from Denon.

- Problems with Digital reception when weather is bad or high pressure. This is probably a location problem rather than the receiver as all transmitted signals need extensive boosting. I am thinking of trying the TV aerial as an alternative to the indoor aerial provided.
