Cuisinart DGB900BCU Grind and Brew Plus Coffee Machine

+ We need to buy stronger coffee because it currently doesn't brew it as strong as we'd like. It looks great though and everyone has admired it and they want one too. Love the fact we can use the timer of a weekend.

+ does what it says. its great to wake up to the sound of the coffee maker grinding the fresh coffee beans, set on a timer. Dont know of another coffee maker which uses a timer to both grind and brew

+ Ease of use

- None. It must be cleaned regularly to keep it working properly, but we're only talking once a week.

+ Easy to use. Good results. Easy to clean. Very pleased with purchase.

- Jug/flask that coffee dispenses into. It is a good job the lid locks on as when 4 or less cups of coffee need pouring out the jug has to be tipped up to the point that if the lid did not lock it would fall off, therefore bad design in my opinion for the jug. In my opinion the only thing that could be a better design.

- doesn't keep the coffee warm in the pot for more than 2 hours after brewing

Good build quality.
Bean hopper holds exactly one supermarket-size bag of beans.

- Cleaning is a bit more involved than a standard filter brew machine.

+ Very easy to use....keeps nice and warm throughout the day with an easy pourer...makes a great cuppa

- Needs cleaning very regular.....beans get caught and blocks grinder...you just need to take the time to keep on top of looking after your machine...simple

- Water doesn't get hot enough

+ Great coffee, easily prepared once the machine is set up & loaded. Keeps coffee hot a long time without deterioration.

- Not a brilliant pourer, strong setting not strong enough for some but this could be down to my choice of beans.

+ Makes very good coffee.

- Jug lid is too deep and is a bad design, you have to turn the jug upside down to get the last cup of coffee out.
It should be modified and replaced as a one for one exchange.

+ Simple control switches. Good capacity of bean hopper.

- Jug does not pour easily and it's impossible to get your hand inside to clean. The filter mechanism has two small etched arrows that are supposed to be lined up but they are not easy to see. There is no hotplate to keep the jug contents warm, it relies on being insulated.

- flask does not keep the coffee hot for long enough

+ The coffee is very a good clean taste as it's from bean.
Easy to fill & program. Easy to clean the filter and box. Looks nice also.
Grinding is no louder than a standalone bean grinder.

- Not really anything serious, if you like your coffee really strong you need to double the grind setting, although I've always had to double the recommended amount on all previous filter machines.
