- the ceramic surface "burnt" on teh very first use. It's not a scratch, the heat damaged it. you can see where it starts at the base of the coil. No longer the clean shiny surface that you buy it for. Don't know if this is true of all ceramic hobs.

+ l changed my cooker only because l couldnt get the replacement parts so after 23 years choose the same newer model and am vv pleased

- glass top scratch very slightly not sure how,grill has two setting,full on or half on,this later setting would be better to work with if the centre of the element lite up and not just one side. grill pan could do with being slightly bigger.

- Would prefer dials to be higher so allowing ovens to be higher. Bottom oven very low, difficult to see into.

+ I like the oven interior with easy clean sides. i use the top oven often because its quite economicaL Overall a good quality cooker for the money .

- can't realy find any bad points about this cooker. this is the 2nd hotpoint cooker i have brought so must be pleased with it.

+ Definitely noticed the sealed doors for no smell of cooking meat until door was opened to the oven it is great.
Is easy to use and very clean .

- Timer is a little complicated to understand? One minute timer fine?

+ The design of the cooker is good and easy to use. The oven and grill sizes are good.

- I am disappointed in the length of time the rings and the oven take to reach temperature. More electricity has to be used.

+ Fan oven is very good - fan goes off when you open the door so it doesnt steam up your glasses if you wear them! It is easy to use and looks good for the price

- A bit difficult to clean to the top perfectly it has never looked that good since I used it but that doesnt really bother me that much

+ It's easy to keep clean and very stylish. The glass doors make it easier to keep your eye on the food whilst its cooking without letting any heat out.

+ I have found the cooker to be very satisfactory. It is easy to use and it does what it say's on the tin.

- If I had to find a fault it would be the door glass has to be unscewed to clean properly as apposed to sliding out but I could have had that for alot more money but the price was well worth the sacrifice.

- the top oven doesn'yt give an even heat throughout thus causing hot spots on roasts and the like, I didn't notice when we boughrt it bit the pan rests are single for each burner rather than the normal double desisn this causes them tp move about when you shake a pan on them

+ As a wheelchair user I find the control firm but easy to use. It's very nice to clean and always looks clean.Very safe when the Grandchildren are around, they understand the red button means the top is hot,Very good idea.

- I find the two way switches just a little muddling,but will soon work them without even having to think about them.

- Knobs on cooker are easily knocked and turned on eg. our plastic kettle was on the top of the cooker when it was turned off. leaning over to get something out of the cupboard the hob was turned on, which caused it to melt. Destroying the kettle and covering the cooker top in foul smelling plastic.

frightened of scratching glass top the fan in the oven makes a dreaful rattling noise from time to time

- Temperature very low - need to cook everything for longer and on higher temperature than previous fan oven.
Grill/top oven door - bangs shut - fearful that glass in door will smash if not careful - could do with soft-shut mechanism.
Ceramic hob looked nice before first use - but despite using 'best' saucepans and cleaning hob with 'recommended' hob cleaner, the hob has horrible marks on it already (after very first use)
Clock - despite being very easy to set, keeps altering the time on display - not yet got to the reason why this happens but as yet cannot trust it to cook on timer function.

+ In general terms, the overall appearance is complementary to many kitchen designs and decor. The buttons are easy to follow and the plates heat quite quickly. We chose it as the controls appeared more robust and not likely to be turned on accidentally. Energy saving was not such an issue as we have only moderate use of a cooker.

- I find the side opening bottom door inclined to swing shut but that is probably due to some out of level of the floor. I have found the surface hard to keep spotlessly clean as the black gloss shows up every mark. The grill vent blows in to my face when I go to check the grill pan. Not pleasant. Whilst I have not bought the Hotpoint approved cleaner, the hob does seem to attract sticky residue that can't be cleaned off easily.

+ large hob, oven and timer are good, cooks cakes great,

- instructions on for the dails are in the wrong place they are under the dail witch means you have to bend down to see, not bad for me so much cos i am a shorttie, but my hubby is tall. the cooling time on hob takes a long time, door tends to swing back on you not good when removing items from shelfs.

+ The hob rings are very efficient as too the ovens.
It is easy to clean
From my own personal choice, the black cooker looks smarter in my kitchen than any other colour, apart from stainless steel

- I would much prefer the knobs and the clock to be fixed on a panel at the back of the cooker, as they would be a great deal easier to read. From a safety point of view, it would also be helpful for each individual knob to have a light beside it which would light up when the particular part of the cooker has been in use, as otherwise it is easy to place ones hand on the used ring. My last cooker had light across the top of the panel at the back of the cooker, whereby this could be used if one did not need the kitchen light on - extremely useful.

- Hob doesnt boil high, when turned down, enough to keep food boiling properly pans will boil over if you turn it up even one notch.
Oven has to be on full heat to cook food as it appears not to be very hot, i bake cakes they dont come out as good as they did in my old oven and we bought this one as i thought it would be very simalar to the old creda i had.

+ easy to clean

- the labels for the controls are difficult to read as they are underneath the knobs and require me to kneel down to read them. They should be above the knobs.

+ double oven, dual heat hob ring, timer, single/double grill, instant heat on hob and it turns off immediately/instant temperature drop without needing to remove the pans from heat.

- the timer took a while to work out. grill pan handle is fiddly and it slides about. The hob marks easily when pans are placed on it (food spillages easily removed but pans leave scuff marks)

+ The good points:- adjustable temperature on the grill, adjustable height, variable ring temperatures.

+ Very quick to heat - both ovens, rings & grill. Lovely glass top. Easy to clean. Good to look at - stylish. Can cope with meals for one but has the capacity to cook and bake for large numbers.

- Can't turn oven light off. There is no individual hot plate light, so you can't tell which ring is still hot. Labelling on dials is under the dials instead of above, so you have to bend to see it. Grill cheap, and detachable handle fiddly.

+ fast to heat up ,the main oven only takes 5 mins,easy to clean and grill doubles as a smaller none fan oven ,perfect for me as we're a family of 6.

+ Bought the black one and looks really good - its for a holiday cottage and I bought the same model in stainless steel for another holiday let - prefer the black as it doesn't leave fingerprints as the stainless one does. Easy and simple to use.

- Grill pan doesn't fit into the top oven when the handle is attached.
