Lightweight yet robust. The controls are superb and the sound and video quality is far superior to that of an Ipod. Easy to sync files with Windows Media Player as it uses WMA files. "Zencast" software allows easy download of audio and video podcasts.
-
Limited manual. Set up took some time on my computer due to lack of drivers. Would have scored a 9 for "ease of use" otherwise. However all of the information that you require is available on the creative website

The press about the unit's battery time has proven to be well earned as, having just returned from holiday, the little gem kept me well entertained during flights and coach journeys, easily attaining the documented battery life.
The super bright screen gives clarity, a good range of viewing angles and doesn't suffer from over-saturation.
Also, it's pretty much drag-and-drop when it comes to file transfer, which makes it light years easier to use than the iPod's ball-and-chain software.

Scratches, smears, finger-prints. You name it this thing attracts it.

When entering names of tracks and artists using the software provided you have to click on each field whereas on Windows Media Player you can use the tab key. Also on WMP it will remember previously entered names so you don't have to keep typing them in. The software on the player doesn't seem to have the same facility.
The sponge covers on the headphones have a habit of coming off.
Controls can be a little oversensitive but are no major problem.

huge amounts of memory, colourful display, useful buttons. I also like the fact that there aren't too many buttons. This can make products much more confusing than they need to be.

Sound quality isn't quite as good as an iPod and the volume doesn't go as high as one either. I didn't like the ear phones which can with the product either. They were unattractive and the sound was easily muffled by the holes in the back of the ear phone.

This is the best MP3 player on the market. It's really good having a radio as well. The lay out is easy to read and is easy to operate. You can buy lots of accessories for it. There is no trouble linking it with the PC. Altogether a really easy attractive bit of kit

The user interface is poorly described in the manual and is far from intuitive. It can be mastered though.
Can be tricky to get it to start charging if the battery level is low. No charger provided so you need to leave your PC on - that's an expensive way to charge it. A USB charger will do though, such as one for an iPod.

i think the 268,000 colour pixel screen is a real plus as when watching videos it is just like a tv, much better than ipod video.
The radio is a plus as you can listen to it when you get bored of your own music and its not an extra like with ipod.
you can have photos as the background which u cannot on ipod.
there is also a microphone which is useful for lectures/lessons for obvious reasons.
-
There are no bad points to this product as it has everthing the ipod video has and more. E.g. radio build in and supporting more video codecs which is important if you want to easily get dvds onto the player.

Fairly logical to use, compatible with lots of other devices, so can buy them to suit your pocket and not the manufacturer. compatible with Napster which helps with updating your music files. I have a USB adapter that plugs straight into the Zen and then into either you computer, the car charger or the mains charger and with a mains or car charger it takes less than an hour to charge.
-
There is no queueing system - or if there is, I haven't worked it out yet. More advanced features are a little alien and have little explanation. Battery life could be longer. Does crash occasionally, but the reset button rebuilds it within minutes without affecting the content.

Expert reviews for Creative Zen Vision M 30GB
PC Advisor expert review - by Will Head
Creative isn't new to the portable media player market ヨ the Vision:M represents its third model with video playback capabilities, while arch-rival Apple is still on its first with the fifth-generation iPod.

PC Advisor expert review - by Will Head
Creative was one of the first companies to back Microsoft's Portable Media Center standard, with its Zen PMC (see Nov 04 issue). Now it's back with a new addition to its portable media player lineup, although this time the firm has decided to turn its back on Microsoft and go it alone - the Zen Vision runs Creative's own software. While the capabilities are similar to that of PMC, this brings both advantages and disadvantages.
