Great LCD display, excellent man-machine interface.

Poor software with camera. My old Olympus came with Camedia - a much better product. For instance I can set up albums by name not date and can move pictures from the camera into a specific album.

The camera was very easy to use in the normal mode and the functions were quick to get used to. Best shot feature takes all the difficulty out of using the correct settings for different environments.

ease of use is fantastic, to get the best shot from the camera you only need to press one button for which you can select many best shot features for example portrait, close up, black and white, night shot plus many more, at least 15 different features. It is very slim but not too slim where you can't handle it, also the case is very secure and built well. With one charge it can take 100s of shots so you don't need to worry about the use of the camera for a couple of days before its next charge however I would highly recommend to buy a bigger memory card so that you would have the full use of the camera, you would need to buy at least 1GB.
-
The clarity is not as good as some of the high end cameras however the Best Shot feature makes up for that as most cameras do not have this feature and normally would have to do this manually.

Lovely picture quality.

Hard to hold, does not always take picture when button is depressed, features geared to beginner. Would prefer a swivel screen as on the Canon Powershot.

Neat design if a bit heavy but that is because it is made of metal which is probably a good thing. Buttons easy to use and not too small. Sounds are great; screen size superb for the size of the item. All in all I am very pleased with this camera.

Camera Type

|
Compact
|
|
There are 2 main types of camera: The SLR and the Compact.
SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. SLR cameras use a prism to reflect the exact image as seen through the lens and so offers a more accurate viewfinder. SLR cameras have detachable lenses offering greater flexibility if you wish to take a variety of different photographs.
Compact cameras have a built in lens and an ‘above lens’ viewfinder which is less accurate but they are often cheaper, more sleekly designed and easier to carry anywhere with you to capture that moment perfectly without having to fiddle with complex settings or a bag full of lenses.

|
Image Stabilisation

|
Yes
|
If a photo is taken at a slow shutter speed, or at a long focal length, the effects of ‘hand shake’ will be amplified. Some cameras come with built-in image stabilisation which is designed to act against this to produce sharper images.
It’s great for low light shots without a tripod, like at a gig.
