Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flashgun

+ I have just used this flash for a wedding and I took over 100 indoor shots, the speed of flash, power and recuperation period was excellent. The two batteries exceeded the time needed.
Like the 180 degree swivel also the built in defuser. Range was very good up to 20 foot and all well illuminated.
Interphase with the Cannon my new 40D was fantastic and simple. Highly recomended.

- Would like to see in future the capacity to recharge or perhaps runn off a spare battery as with the EOS 40D. Its messy carrying batteries arround so a solution is to this would be prefered.

- buttons are small and hard to use, expensive

+ Good solid build look like it will withstand plenty of use. The quick attachment lock and fast power up make adding the flash to the camera in a hurry quite a simple task. Plenty of adjustment in the tilt,swivel head.

- Buttons can be difficult to operate with large fingers as they are quite recessed, but most can be set via camera menu anyway. Flash could be quicker to recycle, if you are doing a lot of rapid flash photography you may miss a few flashes.

+ A must for every photographer whether amateur or prefessional.
Compared to built in flash the results are so much better.
Swivel head enables you to bounce the flash of walls, ceilings etc
