Score 9.0/10+ Very easy to use as point and shoot but with plenty of manual control if wanted. Great zoom, cd quality sound on video, zoom works in video mode and is very quiet, not picked up on the sountrack of any I have shot. Viewfinder adequate for setting up shots with all the information you need. Swivel screen makes taking shots above or below eye level easy. Although video is not HD it looks great on 32'' Hd screen.
- Batteries could last a bit longer but with two sets of quality re-chargeable more than enough.

Score 8.0/10+ Good solid SLR replacement for occasional photographers with video and stereo sound.
- No raw file format.

Score 10.0/10+ Speed of start-up, colour balance, quality of image, range of settings, ease of use, image viewer, zoom
- None significant ... after thinking for a couple ofminutes: lens cap isn't secured to camera in any way & therefore easy to lose.

Score 10.0/10+ Easy to use good over long distance without having to change lenses the automatic lens does it all for you. For someone who wants good quality pictures without the difficult technology that some cameras have, this is easy to use and great quality for the money
- None so far

Score 8.0/10+ It is excellent for taking architectural features on buildings, even when they are at the top of spires/towers.
- Would have liked a book with how to use the camera instead of having to download off the computer.

Score 10.0/10+ Simple to use, stunning zoom. Use an SDHC Ultra III and airshows are easy
- Really need to be able to manually zoom the lens

+ Superb zoom. Excellent PC software. Excellent view finder quality. Generally an excellent purchase
- A bit bulky but we knew that when we bought it.

Score 10.0/10+ The flip out screen is really useful (especially for short people to look over others or round corners!). There is a wide variety of settings. Because of the AA batteries it is quite heavy but it does mean you can change the batteries in the middle of the day!
- The dial is hard to use to move between the scenery settings - it takes some getting used to.

SLR capability in a "compact" camera package.
Why carry the extra weight and bulk when this has 95% of an SLR's capabilities.
- Needs a standard screw thread on the end of the lens to take filters (UV, Polariser, Cokin Filters etc).

- A bit heavy. Resolution of viewfinder could be better.

Score 9.0/10+ Best camera for the money in its range.
- Although not bad, could do with improvements on image and colour quality and automatic exposure compensation.

Score 10.0/10+ Using CHDK gives the camera loads more features including RAW, motion detection & time lapse.

With Ultrasonic Motor (USM) and Voice Coil Motor (VCM), zooming is fast, accurate and near-silent, while Canon’s renowned optical Image Stabilizer technology counteracts camera shake.
High resolution
A 10.0 Megapixel sensor captures minute detail for superb large-scale prints or extending creative cropping options.
DIGIC 4
Incorporating the latest in image processing technology, DIGIC 4 delivers extraordinary noise reduction. The result is richly detailed, cleaner images, even when shooting at high ISO speeds. DIGIC 4 also drives exceptional processing speeds and responsive operation.
Face Detection Technology
Great people shots – and movies – are made easy with the latest Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB technology, which even detects distant or partially-visible faces. Face Select & Track optimises settings for a chosen person, while FaceSelf-Timer waits for you to enter the frame for great self-portraits or group shots.
Anti-blur
The PowerShot SX10 IS combats potential blur with High ISO Auto and Motion Detection Technology, which ascertains movement of both camera and subject to set the optimum ISO, whatever the shooting situation. Servo AF tracks moving subjects to ensure they remain in focus.

An easy-to-use Multi Control Dial provides fast, convenient and accurate access to menu items, functions and images. Customise the menu system with My Menu for rapid access to the functions you use most.
Optimum contrast
Working in both shooting and playback, i-Contrast boosts brightness in dark areas. The result is improved contrast with detail retained in tricky lighting conditions.
Movies with stereo sound
Create long, high quality 30fps VGA movie clips with CD quality stereo sound. Accurate auto focus and exposure is maintained even with moving subjects.
Speedlite compatible
For extended shooting options and better light coverage, the PowerShot SX10 IS is compatible with Canon’s EX Speedlite flash range.
