+ Easy to understand for a sophisticated printer. Good quality prints. Good to be able to have two paper sources, so when doing letters etc. can print straight off and then just select the change of source to print a photo. Excellent. Do not have to keep changing paper all the time. Ink cartridges are easy to change. Copying is speedy.
- Would be nice to be able to buy cartridges in sets - at least have not been able to find any yet.

+ For an all-rounder it is great. Note that print quality varies from good to very good/lab quality depending on the type of paper used - something I didn't fully appreciate before buying my first photo printer.
- The slide scanner is ok for doing about 3 x 35mm slides/negatives at a time. I'm sure the quality is good but it is quite lengthy procedure to use the film adaptor in this style of scanning. If you have a lack of space and need to scan lots of negatives then a more specialised scanner with an automatic feeder would be better.

+ A great 3 in 1 printer. No problems with installation, very straight forward. Provided with a suite of applications. Print quality is very good.
- Cartridges are little expensive. Not the cheapest printer around, but worth paying that little extra for a solid build quality.

+ Does a very good print job. Scans and coppies very good. Prints from negatives, very handy. Very pleased with it.
- Abit more difficult to understand then the MP800 i had and a little bigger.

+ print quality and general speed of printing. duplex mode is slightly slow but much better than not having duplex mode at all. It looks neat and tidy and every thing can be folded away. Good quality photo prints. Installation was straightforward.

+ Looks good, works well.
- A little expensive. Could be faster. Scanning is a bit of a bugger from a Mac under Leopard! I hate rear "sitcky-uppy" paper trays - gimme a proper drawer one underneath at the front!

+ The different inks (photo cyan/photo magenta) really allow the photos to have that extra depth. The duplex printing makes it easy and the rear and cassette tray means i don't have to keep changing paper. It is easy to use and the menu navigation screen is great and simple.
- The inks are expensive and chipped

+ The LAN setup was relatively straight forward and resulted in use almost straight away. The built in functionality of the print/scan features are clear and easy to navigate using the menu system. Print times and quality are excellent.
- Is a large unit(not a problem if you are able to hide away as I have) and have not been completely happy with the scan quality as it does not appear as clear as my previous stand alone scanner. Also it does not have a wake up feature (unlike previous canon printer I owned) which means you have to switch it on prior to printing which defeats the logical use of printing from any PC from anywhere on a wireless network.

+ Good print and and scanning quality. Network connection for connection to the router for shared printing. Easy to use and has a additional draw as well as the paper hopper which I use for photo paper.
- Its a larger than the printer it replaced

+ very easy set up (vista). quiet and fast. very easy to use even without reading the instructions. print and scan quality excellent. Photo printing also excellent. would definitely recommend this to a friend, in fact bought it for my dad's partner but wish i'd got myself one too. have got two canon printers and a scanner at home that i have had for several years and all are 100% reliable. have no reason to think this will be any less so.
- none that i can see so far.
