+ Light in weight and small but packs a punch when it comes to picture quality. You will not be disappointed at the wonderful clarity when shooting and then watching in H, especially on a large screen.D

- None whatsoever.

+ Easy to use, highest AVCHD encoding available.

- Cannot have access to both manual iris AND manual shutter at same time (although this can be simulated by fixing the shutter and manually adjusting the exposure up or down) - still not complete manual control.

Score 8.0/10

+ Excellent video and good photo quality, especially when white balancing is used properly. Image stabilizer and optical zoom work nicely. Internal memory capacity should suffice even for a long vacation, especially as even the standard HD recording mode produces very good quality in most situations.

- As with most consumer cameras the zoom is constructed towards tele and is not well suited for wider angles as is needed to record things at short distance, eg a party in house. I bought the Canon wide angle lens and rarely take it off, and only because of its size and weight, not to use the extreme tele zoom.
The included battery is also a little small so a larger one is a must when you plan using it for more than an hour between charges.
Finally an included neck strap would make it easier to carry then the loop for the wrist.

+ Excellent sharp movie pictures. Compact size,

- Image stabilisation seems worse than my previous Sony DV camera. Not sure if this is somthing to do with HD.

+ Good picture quality, as photo 2.

- If you shoot inside you have to shoot so far away to get people inside the image. So u need to buy lens.Battery last only 1 hour.

Manufacturer's Description

Combining intuitive controls and a compact design, the HF11 delivers amazing HD quality every time. 32Gb internal memory – allowing up to 12 hrs of movies to be stored – lets you pick up and go.

Dual Flash Memory

With Canon’s Dual Flash Memory you can shoot when you want – even when you have no spare media around. While the high capacity 32Gb internal flash memory can store up to 12 hours of HD footage, choose to shoot to SDHC memory cards if you want to record even more. Cards are also great for sharing with family and friends.

Lightweight, compact

Since flash memory is one of the most compact recording formats around, the HF11 is incredibly lightweight and comfortable to hold.

Full HD at 24Mbps

The HF11 captures 1920×1080 Full HD video images that are matched to the resolution of Full HD TVs. With five recording settings to choose between, the highest quality MXP setting has a maximum data rate of 24Mbps – for superior HD images.

Flash

Flash memory brings you several benefits, aside from increased storage capacity. Flash is more robust than other kinds of recording media, keeping movies safe, and also requires far less power – extending battery life. Compatible with a range of other devices – from personal media players to TVs – it is also very responsive: you really can just pick up and shoot.

Canon HD Camera System

Superior HD video quality is possible thanks to the combination of unique Canon technologies: a Canon HD Video Lens with 12x optical zoom, a 3.3 MP Canon Full HD CMOS sensor, and the powerful DIGIC DV II processor.

Instant AF

Instant AF combines two types of focusing methods to achieve super fast and accurate auto focus at speed.

Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer

Since camera shake is more noticeable when shooting in HD, Super Range OIS employs twin shake detection systems to compensate for vibrations across the frequency range.

Shoot and share

PIXELA ImageMixer™ 3 SE software lets you manage, playback and edit your video. You can convert finished projects to different file formats and even burn them to Blu-ray disc. The HF11 is also compatible with Canon’s optional DW-100 standalone DVD burner – a great way to share movies on DVD.
