Will, Worthing
The size of the camera is great, just small enough to be able to fit in a pocket. It's light and feels as though it's built well. Ther is hardly any time lag from pressing the shutter button to the photo being taken which means you won;t miss that important moving shot. It also has a HUGE screen as there's no viewfinder. Who uses a viewfinder now anyway!!
None that I've found so far!!!

28mm (equivalent) wide angle lens - large & bright view screen
complex variety of settings - understanding would be assisted by comprehensive instructions in a booklet rather than on a CD - a booklet is easier to browse when traveling etc and can be kept handy for "in the field" help

Fantastic at taking photographs, and particularly brilliant at taking macro photographs. Also performs will at night, and has a wide range of features, such as changing the exposure time etc.
The battery life could be better, and the lack of a view finder could be bad for some people - I haven't had the need to use one yet. Back screen is also prone to being scratched

wide-angle lens is lovely, as is the macro mode. the time-lapse movie mode is plenty of fun.
perhaps the camera casing could be a little tougher - the silver scratches quite easily (though the screen is fine)

I bought it for my wheelchair bound, 82 year old uncle. He is having the most fun ever and producing (shake free) pictures that are of fantastic quality. He was an amatuer photographer many years ago and won local awards. The Ixus had given him a new lease of life!

Easy to use straight out of the box. Plenty of advanced options when the manual was read.
Not so good in low light conditions

Scratches easily.

Wide angle lens. Good quality pics. Small and handy.
No viewfinder. Poor focus if still set to auto face recognition setting can give fuzzy pictures with delayed timer.

It is Wide Angle
Now a days when there is 10 mega pixel camera available, it is only 8.1 megapixel

Excellent size 3" LCD screen. Red eye reduction feature once pictures have been taken.
Easy to see finger prints on LCD screen, so needs to be cleaned regularly.

Excellent camera, great features.
Nonereally, but exposure in low light in auto mode is hit and miss

This camera is very easy to use and it can be set up with the settings to suit your regular photos.
At the 28mm wide angle there is a lot of distortion to the edge of the image. The flap to gain access to the USB link is flimsy and on my camera it doesn't open properly.

Good image quality after zooming right in.
Screen is so big compared to camera that it is easy to put your fingers on it.

A bit too bulky for what it does. It does not have an option where you can look through an eye piece.

the size is great. and the features are exellent. the screen is big too. i also like the red eye correction facility.
if using the flash and zoom, the image is too dark. and if you want the date to appear on the image you have to use postcard size, and then the camera is less than 2 pixles instesd of 8 pixles. you also have to allow exta room above peoples head when taking photos, or a bit is missing.

Wide angle feature, easy menu function, image rotation feature, clear images, large LCD screen,
sometimes pictures in the daylight do not come out as clear,

Compact - easily fits in a shirt or jacket pocket. Easy to use. A good choice of excellent features for such a small camera.
No viewfinder, just a screen which is difficult to see in bright sunlight.

very fast to start up and process photos. lots of modes give you the ability to take pictures in almost any situation. Final image quality is great as you would expect from Canon.
you don't quite have the ability to control every aspect of the camera like you do in an SLR, but as a point and shoot you can't really expect that.

Build quality, review features including auto rotate and focus review, image stabilisation, large usable LCD screen.
sometimes difficult to get auto focus to identify correct subject particulary with landscapes. Cannot adjust zoom when shooting in movie mode.

Straightforward to use, quick focus, on the upper limit of image quality for a compact camera
No manual override, but this is a fairly minor issue in what's basically a point & shoot camera

Great quality image
Slow to capture images, when using flash it makes images darker than they should be.

An excellent camera at the price. The zoom is particularly good for a compact camera, and the LCD screen is brighter than previous digital cameras I have used.

Only used it once, but very easy and intuitive to use. Extra large screen is really good.
The extra large screen gets dirty with fingerprints and can be difficult to clean

easy to use =, great pictures produced
when previewing pictures the picture rotates by itself if you have the camera tilted at an angle,

Viewfinder is excellent, panorama is fantastic, am amazed at how much I could get into my picture, clarity of photos excellent and very quick to take a photo.
Not too easy to learn how to use, dvd has full explanation, but not many people have time or inclination to watch it, apart from that however, no bad points.

Fast and responsive. Good images
Have 5 other canon cameras and some of the functions are achieved in odd menus. Will get used to it but it is not as intuitive as previous ones. A learning issu for me only - just need to 'read' the manual

This camera contains so many great features that got me excited every time I discovered them, in fact I have not finished making new discoveries on this excellent camera. I am very happy to have made the choice to buy this particular product.
Too smart and cute to carry in my inner suit pocket

Good sturdy little camera. Has everything I need (image stablisation being important to me!!) Lovely look and feel to it.
The controls are not very easy to see in poor light - would be better if the markings were white!

Good quality pictures in daylight, wide angle lense, small, durable, simple.
It's not worth using this camera outside when it is dark.

I bought an Ixus the previous year. Unfortunately I lost it (left it in a taxi in Rome!!!). However, I'd been that impressed with it that I replaced it with the same model. Still love it!
