+ Massive optical zoom. Good features/special effects. Will fit into a patch pocket and is very light. Good viewing screen - bright enough to use anytime - I went to Bosnia in July and had no problems filming in midday sun. Handy, easy to use remote supplied.

- Feels a bit plasticky. On zoom you really do need to have some form of tripod or other method of steadying the camera once you get to 10X and above - a beanbag type of pad to rest it on works fine. (This is true of any camera).

+ Easy to use in basic mode - the auto systems work well. mine was stolen from my hotel room after only eight days, so I didn't get to try much of the 'special' settings. The shots that I had until then were really pleasing - viewed on the television in my room. I'm sufficiently impressed to replace the camera with exactly the same model. Zoom works relly well.

- Feels a bit plasticky. Image stability at large zoom difficult to handle without tripod.
