Canon Pixma MP600

+ Easy to set up and use, flexible features are good

- Bulky, quite noisy, initial photo print quality has not been brilliant but may be down to use of cheap photo paper so will reserve judgement on quality.

+ I have been more than satisfied with my choice of printer and, at the price I purchased it, consider it to have been very good value for money. The alternative front loading paper tray is especially helpful when shelving imposes a height restriction.

- I have problems with my pc and scanning. My laptop works fine but my older pc does not. I contacted Cannon and the reply did not help and I contacted them again and have not received a reply.

+ The printer was easy to install, and easy to operate. Has fantastic speed and print quality. It's extra printing functions are invaluable for my home business, giving professional results.

+ I have been printing holiday photos of my time in New Zealand and they have been of excellent quality. Everyone I have shown them to have commented on how good the printing is and I have recommended this product to them. If I forget to pull down the paper collecting tray I dont have to worry because it comes down automatically! I have been very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it.

- I have not found any bad points as yet. I have been using the proper cannon inks and good quality printing papers so dont know whether the quality would be impaired by using cheaper products.

+ Straightforward to use. Excellent screen. Very good photos at least up to A4.

- Software seemed to conflict with Windows XP when initially loaded. Had to try several times. It might have been easier to allow XP to recognise the new hardware and follow the MS wizard rather than rely on Canon's instructions. XP kept telling me that the software supplied did not have approval. The loading and output trays are a little on the flimsy side compared to HP.

- I found the printer a bit larger than I expected

+ - Easy to use it. - I like the fact I can also load the papers from a front cassette and not on the top of the printer. The documents are also coming out printed from the front of the printer. It's really good for me because I don't have any space above my printer. - Many ways to print: straight away from the camera with a USB cable, from the computer, from any kind of memory card. - Good value for money, it has a great resolution, print obviously, but also scan.

- - A bit big but can't make it any smaller because it's printing A4 size document, so that's can't be really a bad point. - It does print my pictures a bit darker that what I see on my camera screen and my computer screen. I don't know to use any Pictures program to modify the pictures and make them better before to print them, so it's a bad point for me. - Lately it seems to leave a dent on the side of all the pictures I'm printing. I maybe need to check the configuration, don't know?

+ Display is excellent and makes the printer easy to use. Good variety of functions.

- A little slow to "boot up".

- Can't find a way of sending a scan direct to an application or specified file- not yet anyway. This could just be me but with my last two printers it was requested on first use and easily set up. So far I have no idea how long ink cartridges last nor how much they cost and as this is usually the greatest on going cost I reserve my judgement.

+ Extremely quick,good print quality. Preview function on photocopier - less wasted paper! Inks relatively cheap.
