+ If you can hold a camera steady this is a good lens for a good price.

- This is a lens for an experienced photographer. Such a telephoto is not easy to hold still and a beginner or inexperienced amateur should buy one with an image stabaliser, even if it means waiting to save up the money. Camera shake is very likely otherwise, and you would not be getting the best out of this worthy lens.

+ I'm an amateur photographer, this item was cheap considering what it is and compared to similar products.
I never thought for the amount this lens cost I would get a Canon.

- Bit long, when extended !

Les, Wetherby , “Purely an amateur photographer”

+ This was a replacement for a similar lense which I purchased for a Canon EOS 1000F SLR in 1993, which I transfered to my 350D. It has worked faultlessly with good results all that time. Unfortunately I dropped it last year! The new one is just as effective.

- Can be a bit slow focussing but nthat is being picky for something of such value for money.

+ None. Nearly every photo that I've taken, I've subsequently deleted.

- Always out of focus. Has the automatin focus been adjusted correctly by the Manufacturer?
