+ It's compact. The extending bits pack away neatly. Print is good, although machine a little noisy, but I can live with that. I would prefer a paper tray inside the machine but I guess that would make it very much more expensive.

Very easy to use, so much so that i didn't even need the manual!
Prints in black and colour perfect for word documents which is all i print.

- paper can go slighty off to one side at times but this does not affect the printing,
can at times be very slightly grainey and doesn't come with a usb cable to connect to laptop/pc but these are easy to pick up for a pound at hardware stores and supermarkets.

+ Quick, high quality black and white printing. Very easy to set up. Great scanner/copier. Extraordinarily good value

- Expensive ink cartridges

+ When purchasing this product, I read that a previous purchaser had difficulty in working out how to use it, but found it to be extremely easy. I am well satisfied with my printer.

- Haven't found any so far.

+ no fiddley bits on the machine, just plain old buttons & flaps for loading ink/paper. Machine fits well into standard computer table shelves. Printing not as noisy as other makes & models.

- text looks a bit grey - not black enough and images run easily if paper gets slightly wet. Printing on low-quality paper really not good.

- Multi-colour cartridge rather than individual ink tanks. Cartridges with print heads attached to cartridge rather than integral with printer. The pixma 2500 (which I also use) has a much more satisfactory system. The printer requires a USB cable and this was not supplied with the package. This proved particularly irritating to me as I had material which I wanted urgently to download and I was held up for three valuable days. I thought this omission of a vital piece of equipment rather mean. I would have happily paid an extra pound or so to have had one included.

- The instructions were on screen in Greek, it took a lot of juggling to get them in English. One box still comes up in Greek although I have uninstalled all Greek fonts, &c. on my computer. Once I had sorted out the instruction for photocopying, it was easy to do

+ Barely larger than my old ip3000: feels sturdy considering the asking price of less than £30: scans are excellent.

- A bit noisy: slow to start up but reasonably quick once up and running: cartridges are expensive so will have mine refilled: as ever, no USB lead in the box - why when they only cost 50p a pop to make?!?! Would have liked seperate colour cartridges but can't complain at the price!

- Instructions did'nt state we needed to plug printer in in order to find the print cataridge housing unit, may be obvious to some but not me, took ages trying to find it and nearly sent it back because it had what I thought was a missing housing unit! Then we pluged it in and then the housing unit came across from the right hand side!

+ This is a fast efficient printer which runs relatively quietly. The photo copy function works well, colour copies come out better than black and white.

- The scanner took some getting used to as it seems to scan everything upside down, it doesn't like cheap paper and black and white photo copies seem to come out grey and white though that could be because the ink cartridge is new.

+ Very fast and quieter than my other printer

- I preferred the 'buttons' on the front (my previous Canon Pixma) rather than on the top

+ Its very simple to use i have mine on wi fi, which was easy to hook up, I'm very pleased with my printer-scanner.
