+ its nice and small so can be kept in a cupboard out the way and easy to carry from room to room.

- it states on the box that it is wireless, this is not entirely true it does need to be connected into the computer you are using it with but its not really a big deal

+ Easy to use. Relatively light weight: it seems to be the only portable printer out there, so I'd recommend this printer - it does the job. But - rather disappointing overall

- Heavy on ink use and cartridges expensive. Slightly heavier and bigger than the earlier Canon - why? Well, because it has features that aren't needed for a basic portable printer.

+ The only good point is that it's very small and therefore portable - but many smaller portables are a lot cheaper.

- I bought it because i wanted to print photos, but the quality on phtoo printing is terrible.
The ink cartridges are very small and last a very short time. Therefore printing is very expensive.

+ Very compact and easy to operate. Previous printers have been much less tolerant of simple errors like trying to print when the printer is switched off or has no paper.

- A DL envelope is too wide for it to handle easily.

Manufacturer's Description

Powerful and portable photo lab quality printing

Get high performance printing on the move with this stylish, portable photo printer. Enjoy easy wireless printing from suitable camera phones, PCs & PDAs with IrDA or optional Bluetooth® connectivity.

Photo lab quality on the move

The portable PIXMA iP90v utilises Canon’s FINE print head technology to deliver the photo quality and print speed of a professional desktop printer. Micro-Nozzles ejecting tiny 2pl ink droplets enable a high 4800 × 1200dpi resolution – for outstanding accuracy and true colour excellence.

Productive print speeds

The PIXMA iP90v prints at up to 16 ppm in mono and 12 ppm in colour. It can also print a photo lab quality 10 × 15cm borderless photo in just 81 seconds, and is the only portable printer capable of producing borderless prints up to an A4 size – making it ideal for photo enlargements.

Wireless printing freedom

The PIXMA iP90v offers IrDA as standard and an optional Bluetooth® adapter for convenient, cable-free printing. The ability to print wirelessly from compatible camera phones, PCs and PDAs ensures complete printing freedom. Weighing just 1.8 kg, this ultra compact, portable printer will meet the needs of the most demanding users.

Direct camera printing

The iP90v prints photos directly from any PictBridge compatible digital camera or camcorder – without the need for a PC – giving beautiful borderless prints, anytime and anywhere.

Beautiful, long-lasting prints

Enjoy and share your photos for a lifetime. With Canon’s ChromaLife100 system, photos have a print life of up to 100 years when stored in a photo album (for optimal storage conditions see www.canon-europe.com/chromaLife100).

Portability and lasting power

When no mains power is available, Canon’s optional rechargeable Battery and Charger (LK-51B) ensures the iP90v still keeps on printing. Or select the optional space-saving Battery/Cradle kit (CK-51B) which supports the printer when not in use, making recharging even easier. An optional car adapter is also available, allowing the printer to be powered from a car’s cigarette lighter socket. So everyone can print everywhere.

Windows & Mac compatible

The PIXMA iP90v works with all popular Windows and Mac operating systems, for full flexibility.
