+ Very simple to use, features adequate for my use as a very amateur photographer. Easy access to features. Love my camera look forward to learn as much as I can about all the features.

- Very disappointed with lense, in hindsight would have just bought the body and then purchaesed a good lense seperately, 70-300 for example. The viewer is rather small should have gone that little extra and bought the 400.

Disappointed because in-store we were advised that the sigma lens from our old canon camera would fit this new one, but when we try to use it an error message appears.

+ excellent performance generally, image quality very high, many good features and versatility, as small and light as could reasonably be expected. Battery life is amazing and spare batteries cheap.

- Finish a little cheap, quality of plastic poor, with a tendency to scratch easily, also dust on sensor from new! Controls a little too compact and can be fiddly, especially with large fingers. Kit lens is not the best and does limit the performance of the camera. The grip is not as good as it could be, it is a bit small and smooth and makes the camera easy to drop in some situations, especially with a larger lens. Default settings did not give the best image; it took some time and experience to get the results I expected.

Altogether good value for money and a good first step into serious digital photography.

+ Fully specified D SLR, compitible with Canon lenses, flash guns etc. Instant on - no descernible shutter lag. Best spec. for the money at this time.

- Week points (not bad points really) are: LCD is small Viewfinder is small Max flsh sync is 250 (though HS sync works with Canon flash guns) no PC-sync - Canon claerly expect you to use their (expencive) wirless system for multiple flash. It's got 'Canon' printed on it so all your accessories cost more than they would with a non-Canon/Nikon.

I wanted to learn about SLR cameras, and this is a great camera for that perpose. It's capible of producing high quaility images and has some advanced features like 1600 ISO sensitiviy and busrt mode. For all that I have only needed to look in the manual twice. While the menu system hides away some things like mirror lockup and 2nd curtain sync (although they take less than a 2 secs to find) most common commands have shortcuts. So turn on - change ISO, set white balance takes about as long as it does to say.

Good ergonomics - it fits nicely in the hand. Simple to use - it can be used straight out of the box. Battery life is excellent.

- Haven't found any yet. It is bulky but that is to be expected with an SLR.

This is my first digital SLR and I can't fault it. I would recommend it to anyone considering changing to a digital SLR.

- Kit lens covers a useful focal range but is of basic build quality and is non USM drive. I would imagine most users will want to upgrade to better optics in the medium term, to get the best out of this camera. Having said that, I managed to take some stunning images with the kit lens!

An excellent camera and an ideal introduction to DSLR's as well as perhaps a backup unit for pro-users. Image quality is excellent and layout of displays and controls is nicely done.

- Only bad point I have encountered is if you fill the memory card fully, you cannot delete any images, as the camera lcoks up and tells you its full. Transferred images across using a card reader, been fine since I now keep a close eye on the available space.

Very good to use, very light to hold which is important, and has very quick startup speed so you dont miss a single shot.

+ Excellent features covering just about everything that I required, including mirror lock-up and an LCD lamp.

- The kit lens isn't the best set of glass, but it gets you going.

Very good camera. Only rivaled by the Nikon D50, being roughly the at the same level of "features per pound", but as the 350D is slightly more expensive, you get a better camera.

+ Excellent for the use we put it to. Good clear returns. Very easy to handle and a very good entry point camera.

+ Great quality camera; can be used at any level of competency; battery life excellent; can't really see that I would ever want another camera after this; ability to use some previous USM lenses I had was a real bonus.

- Lack of a decent case; handle strap has come off a couple of times; otherwise can't really fault it.

Nothing to add to above. Gre
