Main oven is excellent size and can easily accommodate roast meal of meat, potatoes and vegetables for 6 plus "pudding". Top hob is easy to clean and cover keeps the back tiles clean. Small grill area when used as an oven is very useful for small cakes, etc. saving on gas - very important for retired people on small income. The ovens are easy to clean especially the removeable glass door panels (my previous built-in was very difficult with seals frequently needing replacing).
-
Top grill is not very hot (neither was my old built-in oven) and when used as an oven is somewhat noisy.
The shelves in the main oven are hard to change in position plus sometimes access to roasting trays can be difficult resulting in burns to wrists.

Well made and looks good. Lights in both ovens and good sized windows in both mean it is very easy to keep an eye of your cooking. Minute minder easy to use and useful. Removeable glass inner doors are very easy to clean. And the design of these doors prevent breadcrumbs etc from the grill getting stuck inside the cavity of the large oven door because the inner door is very seperate from the outer one and you can see through to the floor, so any bits and pieces go straight down on the floor.
-
When using the grill most of the heat seems to be pushed out the front by the fan. I don't think I will be able to do any grilling in the summer months, because it is much too hot to stand in front of. Not very good at toast because it cooks in an uneven way. The hob has two large rings and two small. The small hobs are fine but the large hobs are too large for most of my pans, which means you can only use them on half power, otherwise the flames flick up the sides of the pan. I cook for a family of four and so I use average sized pans.
The simmer isn't great but I've never found a cooker that is. The top oven is useful but not as hot as the bottom oven. Still trying to get used to the oven shelf positions. To cook a roast dinner the potatoes have to be nearly touching the top of the oven, if you bring them down one rung the meat dish is too low to cook properly.

Well laid-out, generally easy to set up clock/timer and use with only a short referral to the user guide. Quite good smooth range of gas settings from simmer-to-high levels.
-
Control of hob burner levels are too 'sharp' Gas does not start to turn down until controls are turned about 60%, and most of the gas level is controlled over just 25% of the total mechanical range!
Gas still a little high when set to simmer.
Top oven a little 'cramped' due to the grill assembly position, leaving only about 120mm. available cooking height.
The 4 individual pan supports are not located securely on the top of the hob, and can tilt or slide around when using small saucepans or frying pans.

The design at the back is different from my old one - the glass on the hob once opened needs to opened carefully and the wall needs a little 'buffer sticker' to prevent the lid from banging on the wall. The cooker must therefore be positioned slight forward.

This cooker is good looking and enhances the look of my kitchen. It is very easy to clean and with the glass drop down top makes extra working surface. I am now cooking cakes, like never before, and the turn out better than ever as I have complete confidence in the oven.. I feel the cooker is very safe and very easy to operate and I feel I can rely on it totally, the small oven is as good as the main oven. The gas burners all work well and are just as I need them to be, in fact I am a very happy Canon Cooker Owner.

I found the handles protruded a litle too far with my design of kitchen, however this would not have been a problem with a larger kitchen. I found it a little annoying when leaning towards the stove the switches kept going into ingnition mode by being pressed against. I consider the design and look to be one of the best for the price. Before deciding to purchase this particular cooker I tried a few other makes, looking particularly at the ease of operation of control knobs ( eg smooth action ), opening of oven door, ease of cleaning, ( particularly the hob section ), etc. The Cannon Chesterfield was the best of the cookers considered. The cooker purchased replaces an old Cannon Chesterfield and while I wanted a change of style, I could not find a better design for the price.
-
When looking at the old cooker and the new cooker close up and comparing, the new cooker does not look as robust as the previous Cannon Chesterfield cooker, ( I just hope it is ). It is to early to say if there are any significant bad points with regard to its operation.

Knob indicator below knob therefore you have to bend down to see which ring you are lighting. Minimum flame settings on rings are too powerful. Ignition operates when turning rings off. We have had loads of problems with the grill safety device. Instructions state that when turning the grill on the knob has to be depressed for at least 3 seconds or the flame will go out. We have found that it needs to be depressed for upwards of 20 seconds sometimes even 60 seconds and once lit, the grill has a tendency to go out for no apparent reason. Also when operating the grill, due to the powerful cooling fan, a great deal of heat seems to be blown out and we felt that the power of the grill was unsatisfactory and food seemed to take a very long time to cook.

Nice looking, sturdy and solid.
It has 4 pan rests instead of just 2 so easy to wash.
-
First time i've had a combined oven so perhaps they're all the same, but I hate having to leave the oven door open when the grill's on.
Top oven doesn't get as hot as the bottom one.
Pan rests are higher than the oven at the front so pans could easily be knocked off.

Excellent quality and build compared to many in the price range. Easy to clean and the main oven is excellent with plenty of space.
I had heard a lot of negative feedback on the grill and grill pan but I just don't get it. All you have to do is screw the handle on the grill pan on, which it does tell you to do, as you are not supposed to use the grill side of the top oven with the door closed.
-
Only slight design flaw for me is the description of each hob etc. being underneath the switch.

Good looking cooker with good size oven
-
Had a problem with the grill ignition had the cooker replaced, still had the same problem with replacement. Had to get the Engineers out to fix the problem.
Oven light has to stay on all the time during cooking, and will only work when the cooker is switched on, making it difficult to clean.

The single pressing hob top reduces the chance of grease build up in crevices leaving it easier to clean and keep clean.
-
This cooker has a problem if you wish to install it in a left hand corner, i.e. a protruding wall to the left of the cooker because the design of the oven door handle prevents the door opening fully making it impossible to move the shelves up and down unless you pull the cooker out of it's slot or remove the handle. An improvement to the design would be the ability to swap the hinges from one side to the other like you can on fridges.

Timers and settings easy to use. Hob easy to clean. Glass lid narrower than cooker so easily misses cupboards either side of extractor fan.
-
Gas hobs do not seem to decrease between high to medium settings. Grill pan handle is awkward to use, cannot shut grill door with handle on when not in use. Only two oven shelves provided, not enough for normal family use.

Looks good. Very easy to keep clean. Cooks well. Glass coming out of the door is brilliant. Legs for adjusting height very good - easy and a lot of adjustment. Love the double glazed door rather than a separate inner door.
-
The gas jets on the hob make a lot of noise and sometimes make a high pitched whistle when on low (this is very irritating!). I still haven't got used to which way round the knobs are for the gas jets, I think they should be the other way round (but will get used to it!). Also haven't got used to holding the grill knob in till it lights. My previous Cannon had three shelves and I would have liked three in this one.
