The cooker is easy to clean, and is reasonably efficient, the oven lighting is good
-
Thr markings for the hob rings identification cannot be seen unless to get almost on the floor as they are underneath the knobs.
There is very little fine control on the rings. The temperature markingd for the oven are not sufficient. I have had cannon cookers for many years and have always found them excellent, this cooker has not got the quality of metal used, the oven shelves are very flimsy, the pan stands are very thin and being all in one piece make cleaning harder, the metric measurements make the overall cooking area very small as trying to get several family size pans on the hob together is a health & safety hazard, the quality of the glass lid is very poor in comparasion the cannon cookers I have had in the past, and as I bourght this cooker to hopefully last me as I am a 70 year old pensioner I would certainly think twice about buying this product in the future if I had to purchase another cooker. Overall I am very disappointed in Cannon.

Auto ignition.
-
No solid edge to glass lid for protection.
Burner plates too flimsy.
Both burner pan supports are of same design for 3 different burner sizes with no illustration to show how they should be fitted.
Difficulty fitting the pan supports to ensure that the lid rests on the top surface, care has to be taken to ensure that the lid support pad is clear of the pan support when lowered.
Oven light switches on automatically when oven is in use.

The grill takes a long time to toast bread and cook food but having said that ,the heat that emenates forward from it, causes the hob controls knobs to get so hot that you need an oven glove to use them!!!!This, i feel, could be dangerous!

In spite of the cooker's overall size, the oven and grill/top-oven are more than adequate. The detatchable grill handle, oven light, and clock/timer are very useful. Besides the obvious advantages of extended cooking times, the 'slowcook' facility is great for pre-warming plates or keeping food warm if you get called away. There are three burner sizes so you can choose from 'fast' to 'simmer' easily. A big plus for me is that the whole cooker is very easy to clean!
To sum up, it's user friendly, stylish, well priced and, my Mum always had a Cannon!

looks good, feels solid, like the small, medium and large rings which allow you to cook economically, like the safety feature of the cut out when glass top pulled down. Overall very pleased indeed.
-
Familiarity will over time ease this very slight problem, which is, the control knobs could have been better signposted for each burner, Its a very minor thing but one would feel the designer should have noted the problem.
Would have been better if the grill pan was, or could be, placed nearer to the source of heat when needed.

Small burner on top too small for large family cooking & is only just adequate.Grill flame not strong enough, the burner should be at right angles to what it is now, so that it is the full length of the grill pan. this would enable the heat to be spread more evenly.

Nice looking cooker, clear instructions, pretty good value for money.

2 slices of toast took over 15 minutes to do, the grill seems to have no power behind it.
Oven is smaller than our last cooker ( which was also a 50cm).
Also, we were told the first time we used it, to put it on full with the extractor fan on and windows open, as for about half an hour there would be a strong smell from whatever it is they spray the linings with. Once this had burned off, it would be fine. The oven alone has now been on ( not for cooking) for well over 10 hours and the smell has not gone away. Cannon suggested an engineer came out when I rang for advice, which he did. He said it was normal and to put a casserole in the oven, go out and leave it on all day ( should send him the gas bill). We did this but still have the smell and also a bill for almost £50 because he said there was no fault.
We are now thinking of getting rid an buying a second hand cooker from somewhere.

This is a well designed cooker which is easy to use. The removable handle on the grill was different but I so I soon got used to using it. It is a no nonsense cooker which I would recommend to anyone who wanted value for money.
-
My only criticism concerns the grill. I had a Cannon cooker before and the grill on that was very fast and efficient. The grill on this is a lot slower, even on high levels, and it can be a little difficult to light. There is a definate knack to doing it but once mastered it isn't a problem. I also don't like the way you have to hold the ignition in until a certain temperature is reached.

Heating Type of Main Oven

|
Fan
|
|
Conventional ovens heat from the bottom so the top of the oven will be slightly hotter than the bottom. This is useful when you’re cooking lots of different dishes at a time. However, they do take a little longer than fan ovens to heat up.
Fan ovens circulate the air so that you get an even temperature throughout the oven. They are quicker to heat up which means they save on energy and time.
Multifunction ovens give you the flexibility to use different methods of cooking. They usually have both fan and conventional settings as well as pizza settings that will only cook from the bottom, giving you a crispy pizza, or top-only cooking that is very useful for browning.

Self Cleaning

|
Catalytic
|
|
Self-cleaning ovens can come with catalytic liners or pyrolytic programmes.
Calalytic liners are the bumpy surfaces which line the inside walls of the oven. They absorb the food and grease and break it down so that the oven is easier to clean.
Pyrolytic programmes run for a couple of hours and burn off all the grime in your oven at temperatures up to 500°C. As it gets so hot, the oven door usually locks so that all you need to do is sweep up the ash that’s left over at the end.
