Brother MFC-235C Inkjet Reviews: Brother All-in-one Colour Inkjet Printer

+ Good price for an all inone multifunction printer that scans, copies an dsends faxes! Not top of teh range but great allrounder for the home office.

- Fiddly inserting paper.
No automatic duplexing, you need to re-insert the paper for teh other side to be printed on.

+ For the money i paid this product is excellant value its easy to use and compact. Its real easy to install with no problems.

- The only problem i found wasthe text screen does not light up making it difficult to see in a dark room.

+ Its easy to use

- Difficult to read the moving screen except standing up

+ Cheap ink refils & they last well

- Speed & hangs my system when I boot up with the printer connected and power on.

+ Fast and easy to use. Its size is very compact without compromising its main functions.

- Trouble shooting guides need to be more descriptive but saying that it does seem to reset itself if you pull the plug.

- If you print from scanner you lose picture quality, scanner is a bit of a let down. Printer struggles with thicker paper and photo paper.

+ compatable, doesnt take up any space , best all round printer ive ever purchased for faxing, copying, printing , scannining, in fact value for money and ink cartriges cheaper than anyone else can supply either in shops or on internet , i would definately buy another one if this one failed mechanically, i have purchased printers in past all big names as far as i am concerned this one is the best.

+ Easy to set up and use. For home computing, is very good value for a multifunction machine, for everyday printing. Ink cartridges have a long life which is excellent.

- My wife uses the machine for her craft work, scanning, and making colour copies. She finds that the machine has difficulty coping with photo paper, and other art papers. There are a lot of mis feeds.The settings made in preferences don't always stay changed, meaning wasted paper as copies have to be re done. It is extremely noisy as it starts the printing process as it gathers the paper.

+ Well Built Machine and good value for money. Printer cartridges are very reasonably priced and cheaper than that of most other brands. The price of printer cartridges are important when buying a printer because some manufacturers charge more for a new set of cartridges, than that paid for the machine new, including the free cartridges packed with the new machine. This will be my 3rd Brother all in one and I will certainly by another one when the time comes.

- This model did not have Fax receive so I had to upgrade to a Brother MFC-465CN.

+ Quiet, prints well.

- No WI-FI, bit bulky, and recto-verso printing not available.

+ Everything about it is excellent.

- Hard to find any! My only criticism is that I find the menu screen difficult to read unless immediately in front.Perhaps an LED screen or a backlight would be more effective.

Why does it stop printing if a colour ink has run out and I only have a text print document to print?

- The peper to be copied needs to locate against the raised lip and not leave the operator to locate eg.A4.
Wpuld like to upgrade to 465C bacause of the multi paper feed but will not because it has a different cartridge as did my 115C. Just not worth the extra costs incurred in getting the new cartridges.

- I prefer to have the address directly printed on to DL envelopes. With my previous printer this was easy to do, as and when I needed to.
It is not practical to do this for the occasional envelope with the MFC-235C, so I have to use labels.

+ Quality print and very fast!

- Ink run out very quick and is very expensive to replace. This machine is built to drive you NUTS regarding ink cartridges. If you lack fustration/anger/disappoinment in your life then buy this machine.

+ Separate colour ink cartridges with no electrical contacts make this a very economical printer both to buy and operate.

- Similar printers from other manufacturers print documents in reverse order (i.e. the last page first) this is usually more convenient than printing in page number order as with the MFC-235C.

- When printing out a typed page letters are blurred unless on best quality.

Reasonably easier as a scanner

- Never been able to fathom how to use the other options - fax and photo scanner or what lots of the buttons are for. but it serves my purpose.

+ Price and easy to use, good help from Brother when I first set it up, most of the problems were caused by me. Good MPG from the ink and the scanner is very good. I have not used the Fax...

- When I print photos they come out very dark(I must ring the helpline). It's a bit messy to load different types of paper.

- Changing functions is not as easy as I would like and can be confusing. The printer is probably the slowest I've ever owned and uses up the ink very rapidly so not very eco friendly or economical

To print from web, I wish I could choose mono and colour.

+ This printer is stylish to start with, and very easy to use. For me personally I need something that is quick as I do a lot of copies, and this machine delivers.

- Apart from the annoying beep when it starts up, nothing I can think of.

+ Very affordable machine and consumables. The ink tanks seem to last for ever which is a vaste inmprovement over my previous machine (not Brother). Quality is good not matter what media is employed
