Bosch WAE 24363 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ Very easy to use, very quick and reasonably quiet. The countdown to finish time is brilliant.

- When it has finished a cycle it beeps, then beeps, and beeps and beeps. It goes from being useful to a little annoying.

+ Bosch are a reliable make with a good reputation for reliability. Easy to use, quiet.

- No half load.

+ Very pleased with the machine. It has a short cycle lasting 44 minutes which works well and washes adequately without taking a long time. It has a good spin dry.

- The machine moves around when spinning

+ Graet easy to use washing machine. Very quiet and basic cycles are much quicker than my last machine. Timer so machine can be set to finish whenever it is convieient, for economy 7 etc.

+ It gives the cycle time and keeps to them to the minute. It has a bigger drum than my previous machine and it gives the option of adding more water depending on the load.

- The instructions do not explain the eco wash very clearly. I have had to scrutinise the booklet several times to try and figure out the various options and what they mean.

+ Good variety of programmes. Large door that opens fully. Very quiet even when spinning.

- Annoying beep that sounds when the programme ends. Great in the day time - not so good when you have set the programme to run after you've gone to bed. I'm sure you can switch it off - but have not found it in the book yet!

+ No matter what appliances I've bought from BOSCH in the past, I've never had any issues at all. There's many good points about the WAE24363U, it's ease of use, the noise(lack of), value for money and especially the on-screen cycle-times is very helpful.

+ I find the end of cycle warning useful as I used to regularly forget to empty my previous machine. Not quite as whisper quiet as I was led to believe but still considerably quieter than my previous washer.All-in-all a very good easy to use machine.

+ It gives a countdown of time remaining, it beeps at the end of the cycle

- It could be easier to programme, its somewhat difficult to programme at first, hand book is not very good.

+ It's good working, option of short washes, which is more environmental and also sometimes enough.

- Instruction not easy to understand or to find the bits that you need

+ it offes a good range of programmes without going over the top with complex gimmicks. I like the count down feature to the cycle end and the alarm to notify the washing is ready

+ Choice of cycles, spin is so quiet compared to my old machine.

+ The machine has a read out to tell you how long until the cycle finishes which is handy. Has lots of features and is a good machine.

- The insistent beeping - though there is a way to turn it off if I would just read the manual.

+ The machine is really easy to unpack & connect and looks like a quality product. For washing performance there are just the right amount of programmes to fulfill my needs without being confusing & it has cleaned mud-stained items without needing a pre-wash. The machine is really quiet when in operation, the LCD display shows the time remaining and the delay timer works by when the programme will finish rather than start, which is thoughtful.

- The main control knob projects from the facia & if moved during the wash cycle will change programmes. Really simple to fix by using a knob which you can push in, but characteristic of all Bosch machines. The instruction manual is a pamphlet containing very basic operating instructions but I don't think you need much more than that

+ Great value for money. Robust machine. Great timer feature and good selection of cycle times. Door folds all the way and load size is excellent. Very pleased so far.

- No half load and buttons are a little sensitive, but minor points really.

+ Quiet, and the cycle times are quick. I like the count down timer.

- It would be handy if the machine came with the small spanner required to adjust the legs to make it level.

+ The machine does a good wash! I live in a hard water area, and so need to use a softener, but refuse to use calgon or similar due to its toxic effect on the aquatic environment. I use a magnaball with my ecoballs, and this seems to be OK.

- I would prefer the option of a hot fill (and indeed I do put hot water in the first wash manually - as this is effectively 'free' to me from my log burner!)
The beeping at the end of the cycle to tell me that it's finished drives me nuts!!
The door close clasp seems very tacky, and feels as though it'll break at any time!

+ I wanted a good quality machine that was simple to use without loads programmes. This machine has proved to be an excellant purchase for me.

+ Reputable brand. Simple to install and use. It covers most washing options. However spin speed of 1200 is not very good.

- Manual could be a bit better. Spin speed is low. I wish I had gone for the 1400/1600 option.

+ This is a fantastic washing machine. I particularly like the child lock feature so little fingers cannot fiddle. Your washing emerges soft and fragrant. The cycles have enough variation to suit all needs. It is lovely and quiet and lets you know when the cycle is finished.

- Like the beeps to tell you the cycle has finished as the machine is so quiet you wouldn't always notice. But one set of beeps would be enough. Will be turning off the beeps as too annoying when they keep going off.

- V Minor At the end of the wash remembering to turn the Cycle selecter back to the off position.
A couple of times i have inadvertantly hit the start switch thinking it was an On/Off switch only to find the wash cycle restart over.

- It is very noisy and the alarm is irrating and unneccessary

+ It takes a good sized load, washes well, is quiet in operation and has a child lock.

- The instruction manual, isn't a manual at all, just a folded piece of paper. With my previous machine, a Zanussi, I had a booklet which told you exactly what the machine did for each programme. You therefore, knew what sort of washing action and how many rinses the wash used. Knowing these things makes it easier to decide between, for example, a mixed load or a delicate programme. This bit of paper won't last as long as the machine - providing the machine lasts of course.

- Needs indicators in powder drawer to show which section is which

+ I really love the timer function allowing me to set a load away on a morning and then being able to remove it from the wash when I arrive home from work with it just having finished washing when I walk through the door.

- There is no half load function which is useful to me with there only being 2 of us.

- No 50 degc cycle for whute (cotton) wash. I do not want to use 60degC - too expensive.
Timer and cycle times do not match up!!! Luckily cycles finish sooner than that shown.

The door is nice and big so you don't have to bunch things up to get them in.
