Bosch WAE 24162 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ Easy to set and use, not too many programmes.

- Cold fill, hot wash cycle takes a long time.

- wish I had bought one with a timer for economy 7 as this one wont allow me to use my own timer as the old machine did but will know next time

- No half load option, touch control buttons too sensitive and liable to be set off by the slightest touch or by people brushing past.

+ It gives one a sense of security about the product. Having had machines breakdown before, my repair man identified Bosch as the best macines for reliability. That's why I went out and bought one.

+ I have not had to iron my shirts since I got this washing mashine. Even a two-year old can work this machine. Slight noise at highest spin speed, otherwise as quiet as a sleeping baby.

- Only bad thing about this machine is that the lovely touch sensitive buttons are a bit too sensitive and as it is installed under a work top, when you stand in front of it to do something at the work top it is very easy to inadvertantly switch it off!

- Bleeping intermittently after cycle finished is irritating rather than helpful

+ Good price, good variety of programmes, quiet, door opens right back, making it easy to load.

- The control buttons are far too sensitive. Anything more than the lightest touch moves the function on more than one stage. The On button is so sensitive that while standing in front of the washing machine to do food prep on the worktop I found that the machine was continually going on and off as I leant against the front of the machine. I'm glad that I don't have kids at that height! I would have given the machine an overall rating of 10 if it hadn't been for this. Still a great machine!

+ I would recommend this to anyone.I do a lot of washing and find this efficient and easy to use.

- The only bad point is that if you stand near to the machine the buttons are easliy pushed which can either pause the wash or add another program.Maybe they have a child lock on this machine but i have not seen where this is.Thank you

+ Uncomplicated easy to use machine. Choice of wash cycles is good. Would particularly recommend the mixed wash cycle.

- No casters on the machine which makes it very heavy to manoeuvre should the need arise especially when placing under work surface in between cupboards. The mixed load setting is located next to the 90 degrees cotton wash. I made the mistake of setting the dial looking down at the machine instead of looking straight at it and thought the indicator was in the correct position. Fortunately no harm was done - lesson learnt that day.
