Bosch SMS50E12GB Dishwasher - 60cm Freestanding Reviews: Freestanding, 60cm wide, Dishwasher

+ Cleans all items spotlessly eg my old dishwasher didnt clean round the cogs of my can opener, after one wash in my new dishwasher, it came out like new. Dries all items beautifully - can all be put straight away into cupboards. If switched on overnight, all pots etc still dry to put away in the morning. It is fairly quiet too.

- Takes quite a long time to finish the wash programme but so did my old machine.

+ Short cycle cleans well (even baked on stuff) and is really useful. Dishwasher is very quiet. Loading has taken a bit of getting used to (I'd read a lot of reviews about the knife tray) but I haven't found that too much of a problem and it really is just a matter of getting out of the habit of loading the way I had for 13 yrs with my old dishwasher and finding the best way to suit me with this one. I like the way I could (eventually) turn off the salt/finishing liquid lights when using an all in one tablet. Really impressed with the low energy and water usage. The time remaining for cycle indicator is also turning out very handy! I don't mind only having 4 cycles to choose from; previous experience has shown that I rarely use more than 2 of the options. Overall good value for money and equal in quality to my Siemens (Bosch made) which served me faithfully every day for 13 years.

- On short cycle drying isn't brilliant on glasses and mugs even with the extra drying cycle activated. Water tends to remain in any hollows in the bases. Also I tend to use a supermarket's own brand 5 in 1 tablets which don't always dissolve properly in the short wash. However, the free sample Finish ones did so that might mean a change! It took me quite a while to get the hang of switching to the options on the start button in order to set things like extra drying etc.

+ Excellent product!!! Bought it for wife 's birthday she couldn’t do without now. She just loads and push the ON button 33min on quick wash perrrrrrrrfect clean.. Not used the other settings the quick wash is good enough for all washes with full load of dishes every time.

+ Bosch build quality.

- Longer cycle times than my old Bosch washer.

+ Very quiet (so quiet I had to check it was working), easy to load, racks and baskets are adjustable so anything will fit in. Comes supplied with a spray attachment which when fitted enables you to wash 'tall' items, as the spray is directed from the rear of the machine. Clock counts down so you know how long is left on the cycle.

- If I had to find fault with this product the only thing I can think of is the salt/rinse aid electronic indicator set up is a little fiddly, but it's a once only thing so hardly worth worrying about!

- The door is really cheaply made not solid .Also there is a knife department right at the front and when you put your knife in it the door does not shut.
