It's a very good price. For a first computer my son love is it. The size is also good as it's not a big cumbersome laptop that he has to lug about. Speed is good, screen is good.
-
I thought it came with a built in webcam and only when I read the small print did it say - only on some models, or words to that extent. For an adult the keyboard can be a bit fiddly, but you know that when you buy it after all it's small. I wish I had got it with Windows XP as the desktop is a bit confusing and some of the things are much harder to do, such as MSN Messenger is different and very limiting.

Took this laptop on a 3 month break around S.E Asia and using it now in Vietnam to type this.
Very portable and lightweight, easy to use, lots of features, great for watching Divx movies on, Plug converys for asian use easy
-
Very slow for pictures (like flicking them around), battery doesnt seem to last long.
If you can put Windows on it, then you can use movie maker to compress videos to upload easy if on the road like me.

Easy to use on the move and travel with, looks great!

Poor battery life - main drawback. Get less than 2 hours on the 2G - sent the first one back for this but on getting the replacement this seems the norm :-( Needs to be double that to make it truly a portable option.

linux
size/weight
solid state for speed of startup/shutdown
keyboard quite optimal for size
low price
simplicity
ease of internet/wifi access
coolness factor
chunky/solid appearance
good battery life
widely publicised and excellent, positive write-ups for good 'image'
styleish
good free apps like OOo and skype which work straightaway
lots of input/output like usb, network, etc and sd card
-
maybe keyboard and screen could be a little bigger (even if it adds to weight)
touchpad sometimes does not have effect and have to repeat action
a bit too much emphasis on children as users
sd card triggers file manager every time laptop starts, not just first time inserted

Easy to use and Great value for money. Lightweight and compact - fits in my handbag! Processing is quick and all office software is compatible with Microsoft Office. I was initially concerned about the Linux operating system, however it is easy and straightforward to learn and use.
-
Although I had no issues with Linux itself, it was not compatible with my home wireless broadband, Make sure you check this before you buy.

Fast internet acess and extremely portable, fantastic if you just use it for internet acess and simple word processing docs.
-
Some features are not available on linux, online games etc, msn messenger has to be acessed through pidgin, however it is supposedly a more stable operating system than windows. Low memory but not a problem unless you start downloading lots of files/programmes, just use it as it was designed to be used.

It was purchased to be left in a self-catering cottage for use by guests who need to send emails etc. It seems to work perfectly well and is a handy size... that particular cottage is not online, so folk can carry it down to the local pub (which is WiFi)
-
I have not much experience of laptops so may be a poor judge... I found it just a little TOO small for convenience and (perhaps unreasonably) I would have liked the image to fill rather more of the available "screen" or inside-of-the-lid.

Rugged, compact, light. Excellent screen. The default linux does 99% of what you'd want to do on the road (although finding the Vodafone BetaVine drivers for the popular Huawei dongles is a little fraught at times, but no worse than finding and installing up to date Windows' drivers for a lot of hardware)
-
The 2g is sorely limited in terms of disk space, and has no supplied e-book reader other than xPDF (an Adobe portable document format reader) However, this is a 'general' user's problem and I'm not a 'general' user. Having got a class 6 SDHC 16gb card, split a swap partition between the internal SDD and the SDHC, and installed Eeebutnu 3.0 base, the machine does exactly what I want it to. I can also sway out the OS with another fast SDHC card and run Backtrack 3 or 4-beta as a (highly)portable penetration test machine. Downside of all this is that these are not 'trivial' exercises, and not for the Linux inexperienced...
