+ It is lightweight, easy to use, loads of functions preloaded & very inexpensive for what it is. Linux is very intuitive to use, dont be put of, if you have never used it before. It is a great little machine.

- Speakers are not that useful & take up space that could accomodate a larger better resolution screen. This would not make any difference to some users. I have already upgraded to the eeepc 900 20gb, larger screen, speakers gone, same casing size.

+ system is very easy to use, although the O/S is linux the software preloaded is exceptionally good and the unit is an ideal lightweight portable system, can be configured to run windows XP if required but I found that the linux O/S installed is very friendly to use, found it easy to network with other computers even those running a different O/S. There is quite a good forum for the Asus EEE PC at "eeeuser.com", shows on this forum how to install windows XP to a sd card and hence run windows or linux as preferred.

- keyboard rather small for touch typing, but no problem for children with small fingers or for adults who type with two fingers.

+ Simple, robust, fast to start and with a useful compliment of software on board.

- Low battery life, smaller screen than necessary (the 900 seems to fix this) and low storage.

+ Lightweight design, smooth, sleek finish, generally very well designed and built. Survives shock well!
Great learning/ educational system.

- On such a small machine I'd expect e.g. 5 hour battery life. I wouldn't mind it being bulkier (e.g. block-shaped rather than wedge shaped) for a few hours' extra battery life.

+ small (ish)
quick power up

- - battery life seems a bit short - having trouble with internal mouse, went for a few days where the left hand mouse button, and double click on touch pad did not work - tried reinstalling hardware and drivers , eventually left it for a few weeks and then when I powered it up the touch pad and left button are working OK.

+ So small and portable, everything installed that you need when you hit the road. Wireless is good and reliable and installed apps are just great.

- The EEEPC 900 has a slightly bigger screen so that might have been handy, plus the battery life at 3.5 hours could be longer. Maybe a high capacity battery would sort this though (I have seen them available for purchase separately).
