+ Best gadget I ever bought, needs the DVR and Codecs though to realise its potential Buy one you wont be dissapointed. Had an Ipod before this and this knocks the socks off Ipod. Ive got it connected through its digital out on the DVR SPDIF to my Yamaha amp and the sound is fantastic. Component outputs to TV are great to. Records live TV so I set it up to record the News before I leave home then watch it on the train. WIFI means you can stream video from your computer onto your TV but you will need the DVR station to do this. Ive got the 80gig version,

+ There cannot be a more versatile media player on the market - sound & picture quality are excellent, wifi connection to the web has worked brilliantly & (so far) the build quality is first rate.

- Unit occasionally needs a bit of "thinking time" when first switched on, but no more than 10 seconds or so.

- Buggy Firmware - have had to reset a few times. Volume not very loud on headphones or speaker

- built in speaker not very loud

+ Fantastic range of use - AVI files do not need extra software.

- You do need an adapter - if you do not need regular recording for video source then choose to purchase the DVR travel system or just the battery pack as both of these allow usb/camera transfers without a PC. sound quality through headphones is low - use noise cancelling headphones for best volume.

+ The archos 605 is great for what it was designed for. Does what it says on the tin !!!!!!!

- You really have to buy plug ins and the docking station to get its full potential. The docks a must to charge it quickly

+ Execellent features. There is so much you use it for. Recording from and to TV, listening to songs, watching movies and pictures, configurting slide shows. WiFi internet access. Very good screen quality.

- There are a few issue to be noted. The main one is that you have to pay extra for basics like Battery charger or to be able to use the Internet. The battery life is not great. It can only be used for a few hours before it needs recharging.

+ It's a fantastic piece of technology, and if you get the optional docking station as well it is absolutely amazing.

- the majority of its potential features do not work. TV controler does not work connection with pc works just partially wifi connection do not allow to do anything if you don not buy others specific programs and the archos is alredy very expencive It is the worst IT gadgets I have never bought, and I wnat to give it back!

+ Excellent display, good sound quality, and good size for portability. Excellent if what you need is only a media player. Touch screen is great, and the buttons on the side are of a good design and easy to use. I've had mine for a month and so far it's great

- Add on Charges :(( some codec formats i.e. AC3 not supported so you need to purchase extra add on. Also (I don't require it so it doesn't bother me), but if you wish to use the wifi than you need to purchase add on web browser. Mine did not come with a mains charger, only USB but you can purchase a adapter head to overcome this.

+ cheap with large capacity.

- hard to down load DVD's, needs to many extra's
