Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station

+ excellent piece of hardware, Apple have done another brilliant job.The equipment is so easy to install and set up, and it also looks good no silly airials sticking up.

- i have not found any bad point with the kit

+ -If you have a Mac, the included software makes it easy to set up. -Works great with PCs and Macs. -Has the USB port for hard drives and printers. -Enables simple access to a USB device for the network. -Status light on front gives good indication of the status of the Access Point. -Includes the full speed Gigabit LAN ports for cable connections. -Great wireless coverage. -Small. -Fits in with existing decor. -Supports WPA/WPA2 security. -Runs continuously without problem / Does not ever need to be restarted. -Updates for Access Point are checked automatically.

- -Does not read NTFS hard drives. -If it is not set up properly it can become a problem to reconfigure even after factory defaults are set. -Network cable to go between DSL router/modem and AirPort Extreme is not included. -Does not support WEP so older wireless cards cannot connect unless they support WPA or have an unsecured wireless network.

+ wifi range very good.

- initial setup very complicated, especially if you want to use different operating systems (mac, xp, vista). if you want to connect a printer, check the airport extreme's website for compatibility issues.
