+ Ease of use, it's slim design (helps fit in a pocket/small bag), pretty much everything is excellent except for... the phone itself (see bad points).
-
The phone itself - although easy to use there are not as many options as with an ordinary mobile e.g. being able to send contact information to other people as "business cards". This is just a minor point though and I'm hoping that the upgraded models will focus on the phone features as there's not much else that needs changing.
One final minor point is the ability to move around the text you've typed if you need to make a change... a cursor function would make this a lot easier rather than having to use your digits to try and place the cursor between letters!

+ It's fabulously easy to use. Brilliantly conceived and sooooooo easy to learn how to use it, even for a novice.
-
Using it as a phone is a wee bit tricky because holding it in one hand without accidently activating something else is difficult to do.
The design could be improved by thickening the case and creating finger impressions on the case so it can be held without dropping.

+ photos can be pinched in/out to enlarge or reduce...good touch
- camera not as sharp as expected...phone could do with more memory for films

+ Phone is cool and easy to use. It has cool features like the sat nav and ipod.
-
Bad points well there are loads, this phone is soon going to be beaten by another phone
-Camera has no zoom
- Music through built in speakers is bad quality
- Bluetooth (all phones should have)
- No Picture Messaging
- Cant send texts to multiple contacts
- Camera is only 2 megapixels (All phones now have at least 3 but most have 5, the iphone should have 5)
There are so many bad points i cant explain them all. I would not buy the iphone again. Bad phone.

+ Brilliant iPod quality music player. Safari web browser. Contacts organiser easy to use. SMS listed in conversation style. Useful widgets for youtube, weather, and stocks amongst others.
- Bluetooth appears to have no function. iPhone doesn't appear to like other phones.

+ easy to txt and find contat details.
- low battery life , low iternet speed, no access to hot mail,..
purchased 30 Jan 2008
+ This is the best phone I have ever purchased. It certainly gets you organised. I love the easy in which you use the whole phone it is extremely friendly.
- When browsing the web, this seems to drain the battery faster - to get over this I just make sure that I charge it every evening at home.

poor battery life

+ Web browser and maps are fantastic, actually useful and easier to use than most GPS. The ability to google a restaurant/shop or whatever and then see it on a map and call the number direct is fantastic.
- Messaging intnterface looks preety but is clumsy,. Search facility on contacts list is rubbish and comapred to a blackberry the email support is not great...the keyboard does get easier to use over time but the blackberry still beats the iphone hands down as an email device.

+ It's all good....
-
No MMS
Poor Camera
Lack of available Third- Party Software
purchased 22 Feb 2008
+ It is hard to see how the any of the features on the phone can be improved upon. Even the packaging is carefully designed and manufactured to a very high specification.
- No flash support or 3g.
purchased 13 Dec 2007
+ Its a iphone enough said
- no mms, no 3g but edge is not really as bad as I was expecting
purchased 30 Jan 2008
+ Great design & fantastic usability. I've been pleasantly surprised with the battery life, which comfortably lasts a full day of heavy use. When the 2.0 firmware is released, the functionality of this little beauty is just going to shoot up!
- Although I'm an iPhone convert now, I do appreciate that this device is far from perfect. Top of the list is the lack of 3G. This seems particularly bad, as the web browsing is brilliat, and is slowed down greatly when you're forced to use the much slower Edge network.
purchased 03 Apr 2008
+ Ease of use

Revolutionary Phone
iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply tapping a name or number in your address book, a favorites list, or a call log. It also automatically syncs all your contacts from a PC, Mac, or Internet service. And it lets you select and listen to voicemail messages in whatever order you want — just like email.
Calls
With iPhone, making a call is as simple as touching a name or number. In addition, you can easily construct a favorites list for your most frequently made calls, and quickly merge calls to create conference calls.
SMS
iPhone includes an SMS application with a predictive QWERTY soft keyboard that prevents and corrects mistakes, making it easier and more efficient to use than the small plastic keyboards on many smartphones.
Voicemail
An industry first, Visual Voicemail allows you to go directly to any of your messages without listening to the prior messages. So you can quickly select the messages that are most important to you.
Photos
With a 2-megapixel camera and an advanced photo management application, iPhone goes beyond anything on a phone today. It automatically syncs photos with your PC or Mac when you dock. Displays albums with a flick of a finger. And can post your pictures directly to a .Mac Web Gallery.
Ringtones
You can create iPhone ringtones from over 500,000 songs on the iTunes Store. You can even pick the section of the song you want. Just choose a track with a ringtone symbol, then get creative. You can edit, loop, fade in and out, preview, and play around until your ringtone is just the way you want it. And each ringtone is only 99¢ plus the cost of the song.
Widescreen iPod
iPhone is a widescreen iPod with touch controls that lets you enjoy your content — including music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies — on a beautiful 3.5-inch display. It allows you to sync the content from the iTunes library on your PC or Mac and access it all with the touch of a finger.
Music
Scroll through your songs, artists, albums, and playlists with just a flick of a finger. Album artwork is dramatically presented on the large display. You can also use Cover Flow to browse your music library by album artwork.
Video
iPhone’s stunning 3.5-inch widescreen display is the ultimate way to watch TV shows and movies from the iTunes Store on a pocketable device. Just tap the touch controls for play/pause, chapter forward/backward, and volume.
The iTunes Wi-Fi Store
The iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPhone puts a music superstore in your pocket. Just find a Wi-Fi hot spot, tap the iTunes button and you can browse, preview, buy, and download music on the go. And all the music you buy while you’re out syncs back to your iTunes library on your computer when you dock your iPhone.
Breakthrough Internet Device
iPhone features a rich HTML email client and Safari — the most advanced web browser ever on a portable device — which automatically syncs bookmarks from your PC or Mac. Safari also includes built-in Google and Yahoo! search. iPhone is fully multi-tasking, so you can read a web page while downloading your email in the background over Wi-Fi or EDGE.
Safari
With its advanced Safari browser, iPhone lets you see web pages the way they were designed to be seen, then easily zoom in by simply tapping on the multi-touch display with your finger.
Mail
iPhone uses a rich HTML email client that fetches your email in the background from most POP3 or IMAP mail services and displays photos and graphics right along with the text.
Maps
With Google Maps and iPhone’s amazing Maps application, you can view maps and satellite images, or get directions and traffic information, all from iPhone’s remarkable, easy-to-use touch interface.
Widgets
iPhone even has widgets: small applications that give you helpful information like stock reports, weather reports, and more.
YouTube
iPhone has a special YouTube player that you can launch right from the home screen. So now you can access and browse YouTube videos wherever you go. And when you find a video you want to send to your friends, iPhone can even create an email with the link in it for you.
High Technology
iPhone introduces the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse, the most advanced software ever engineered, and true state-of-the-art technology that will change the way you think about a mobile device. With over 300 patents, iPhone is years ahead of any other phone available today.
Multi-touch
With its large multi-touch display and innovative new software, iPhone lets you control everything using only your fingers. You can type using the predictive keyboard, glide through albums with Cover Flow, scroll through photos with a flick, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page — all with the iPhone multi-touch display.
OS X
iPhone uses OS X, the world’s most advanced operating system. Which means you have access to the best-ever software on a handheld device, including rich HTML email, full-featured web browsing, and favorite applications including Address Book and Calendar. iPhone is also fully multi-tasking, so you can read a web page while downloading your email in the background. This software completely redefines what you can do with a mobile phone.
Wireless
iPhone uses quad-band GSM, the global standard for wireless communications. It also supports AT&T’s EDGE network, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, which links to Apple’s compact Bluetooth headset. When you move around, iPhone automatically switches between EDGE and Wi-Fi to provide the fastest data connection possible. To set up your own Wi-Fi network, check out the AirPort Extreme Base Station.
Accelerometer
The accelerometer detects when you rotate iPhone from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page or a photo in its proper landscape aspect ratio.
Proximity Sensor
When you lift iPhone to your ear, the proximity sensor immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches until iPhone is moved away. Another power-saving feature is the ambient light sensor. This intelligent sensor automatically adjusts the display’s brightness to the appropriate level for the current ambient light.
