John, Coventry , “An engineer!”

+ Very sturdy and well made. It fits nicely into the corner of the room where a full size corner cabinet would be more bulky. Once the cables are tidied away the stand becomes less of a feature and the eye is drawn to the TV which is what I was aiming for. The fixing system to the back of the TV is very adaptable although the instructions weren't very clear on this.

- There is a cable hole through to the back of the upright for the top shelf but oddly there isn't one for the bottom shelf so cables are visibly routed around the side. There are no cable clips on the back. The horizonal backplate blocked the Scart sockets on our TV so we had to use 90° cables rather than the straight ones we already had.

+ Style, flexibility

- Cable management covers are too flimsy to retain good quality cables. I had to stick cable ties all over the back. Being an open design this is very important as cables at the back can easily look a mess.

+ this is a excellent product and would recomend it to any body as it is very simple to put together and very strong.

- the wheels could be slighty bigger and more ther for more manoverable and could do with an outlet on the bottom shelf for cable management for equipment on the bottom shelf.

+ Gives an ideal viewing height for sitting in a living room, as opposed to most wall brackets that people tend to mount to high. All cables are easily hidden without a need to bury them in the wall.

- Only one minor point, there is swivel but no tilt facility, but as the screen should be at the optimal viewing height, this isn't a problem.

+ Sheer class. Secures television brilliantly.Very important as i have two young children.Great viewing angles for all the family.Delighted with our purchase.

- None for us.However,if you have a lot of tv equipment, ie dvd player, sky box etc, then purchase the stand with two shelves. The large glass footprint is exactly that, it is not a shelf, and to use it as such totally distracts from the beauty of this wonderful stand.

+ It was relatively easy to assemble, and looked very smart, and feels substantial and solid. Sky box, Bluray player and Wii console all fitted nicely (I wish they made a black Wii console!)

- I had to shorten the vertical mounting bars as they covered the connector plugs in the back of my Panasonic Viera LCD. Without hacksawing them shorter it would have been impossible to connect/reconnect cables to the TV. It was an easy fix, but I'm glad it worked OK as it would have been difficult returning it with hacksawed mounts!
There is no Cable access hole in the main spine for the base shelf.

+ Excellent quality - Alphason designs far superior to others we have seen. Generous shelving and stand is user friendly. Easy to set up.

- Purchased to hold Panasonic 32ins.TV. All advertising makes it quite clear that it is suitable for 32in. models. However, unless you sit directly in front of the TV, the horizontal bar at the back is clearly visible at either side. Like most homes, our TV is in a corner and the furniture is positioned around the room. The bar needs to be several inches shorter if it is to be hidden from view. As it is your eyes are drawn towards it and it completely spoils the overall appearance. I have taken the matter up with Alphason, but they are not being very cooperative. They have suggested a price of approx. £100 to provide a shorter horizontal bar, which seems quite outrageous. Your comments would be appreciated. The stand is supposed to be suitable for TV's from 32ins. to 42ins. Obviously if is was being used with the larger models there would be no problem as the bar would be out of view. Regarding cable management - good in theory but as yet not really been able to hide all wires. Thick Sky leads are a problem?

+ The description didn't mention the castors - my favourite part as they were unexpected but are discrete. Easy to build and attach the TV and looks nice.

- Sticky pads to attach extension lead to cable tower at the back didn't work - the 4 gang block fell off immediately. Now laying on floor until I buy some better sticky pads. If the shelf were a tad higher, then the cables would show less - my DVD player is rather slim unlike the one in the picture above so all the cables are on display above the device going through the hole.
