+ built in

- there is a cutlery drawer on the top shelf which makes loading difficult unless you remove it. the attachments for the top layer cup holders makes loading difficult have taken them out. cutlery section has top on it which I have removed otherwise you either take out the clean items by the top end and not the handles. if you open the cutlery tray to remove them this is awkward.

+ Stacking options a lot better than my previous Neff and Zanussi models. Unbelieveably quiet, which is great in a kitchen diner and exactly what we hoped for . The light inside is a very useful feature when you have subdued lighting so you can still see inside the dishwasher.

- Long stemmed wine glasses can be a bit tricky and the grid to separate cutlery has holes that are too narrow.....but I'm not complaining as overall it works so well. Could have been a little more price competitive but worth the extra money.

+ Very quiet in operation. Good range of programmes. The cutlery basket is neat.

- The plate stacking options are over-complicated and lead to less options than a fixed rail system would have. For instance having the plates side by side means our plates actually touch one another. having the sennd set of rail in the down position means that pons and other items can move about during the cycle. Similarly, the top level is so undulated that large cups cannot easily be placed without touching. AEG have designed an excellent irregularly shaped cutlery basket, then made the lower pull out to the same shape but, regrettably, the basket cannot fit into the shape because of differences in the actual wire base. It's clearly lik ethe draw and cutlery container were designed by different people who each never saw the other's product.

+ So quiet we need to look for the tell tale red spot on floor to know its on. At first we thought the knife box would be very awkward to use its not too bad but does take a fair space. Like the fold down plate holders, this feature makes cleaning pans easy. The internal light is good.

- Just a doubt about the cutlery box.

+ Extremely quiet at 41dB - you'd be pushed to find a quieter machine for the price. Light inside. Red LED light points down onto kitchen floor to show it's on - goes off once cycle ends.

- Nothing. NB previous reviews mentioned a badly designed cutlery tray. We just took it out and use the main cutlery 'box' which is large enough for our needs.
