+ Superb high quality design. Stylish and exceptionally easy to clean with the lovely touch controls - nowhere for dirt to collect

- Fundamentally none. I was a little disappointed with the wire rack in the grill pan which is flimsy and could have been made of stronger wire but this is a very minor point indeed.

+ Oven is extremely quiet, and easy to operate. I do not have an extractor fan, but would not need to install one as the cooker does not release smells. It has excellent capacity and the various options inlude grilling with the door shut.

- Only that the grill wire is rather flimsy and the shelves are not very easy to move about.

+ Fan oven reaches programmed temperature very quickly. Easy to clean.

- Top grill seems to take a long time to heat up to temperature. Ceramic hot plates click on and off, a bit off putting as food sometimes goes off the boil. Also takes a long time to bring water to the boil. Find it a bit confusing with touch controls when using both ovens at the same time. Hob controls very sensitive, must remember not to put kitchen utensils on top of ceramic glass. A bit disappointed with cooker. If you have the space I think a range cooker would be a better option.

Conventional ovens heat from the bottom so the top of the oven will be slightly hotter than the bottom. This is useful when you’re cooking lots of different dishes at a time. However, they do take a little longer than fan ovens to heat up. Fan ovens circulate the air so that you get an even temperature throughout the oven. They are quicker to heat up which means they save on energy and time. Multifunction ovens give you the flexibility to use different methods of cooking. They usually have both fan and conventional settings as well as pizza settings that will only cook from the bottom, giving you a crispy pizza, or top-only cooking that is very useful for browning.

Self-cleaning ovens can come with catalytic liners or pyrolytic programmes. Calalytic liners are the bumpy surfaces which line the inside walls of the oven. They absorb the food and grease and break it down so that the oven is easier to clean. Pyrolytic programmes run for a couple of hours and burn off all the grime in your oven at temperatures up to 500°C. As it gets so hot, the oven door usually locks so that all you need to do is sweep up the ash that’s left over at the end.
