+ Once you're used to the pictograms on the control knob it's very easy to use. The control knobs press in when not in use. The clock can be blacked out (the clock display is very bright). Good shape door handle makes a great towel rail. Class A rating making it very economical.

- Detachable grill pan handle very difficult to use. Oven shelves just a little on the light side. Clock display too bright. These are minor things.

+ our previous oven was a SMEG - it blew up. The real positive surprise about this oven was how quiet the fan was and how cool the outer surface was. it is a well engineered product - and we are very pleased.

- i think green LED display is better than red. but you can turn it off to save power - so not a big deal.

+ Very efficient - to temperature quickly, cools down very slowly. Well insulated. Triple glazing which can't 'fall out' like some other brands. Quiet operation - hard to tell it's running. Bright interior light making visual inspection during cooking very convenient .

+ Good to look at. Easy to clean. Simple to operate. Service good but see "Bad points".

- Timer went wrong within a week. I reported the fault late afternoon and the engineer came the following morning. If the parts are in stock then the fault will be repaired tomorrow in which case this report stands. Otherwise I will re-rate it.

Conventional ovens heat from the bottom so the top of the oven will be slightly hotter than the bottom. This is useful when you’re cooking lots of different dishes at a time. However, they do take a little longer than fan ovens to heat up. Fan ovens circulate the air so that you get an even temperature throughout the oven. They are quicker to heat up which means they save on energy and time. Multifunction ovens give you the flexibility to use different methods of cooking. They usually have both fan and conventional settings as well as pizza settings that will only cook from the bottom, giving you a crispy pizza, or top-only cooking that is very useful for browning.
Self Cleaning	None
Self-cleaning ovens can come with catalytic liners or pyrolytic programmes. Calalytic liners are the bumpy surfaces which line the inside walls of the oven. They absorb the food and grease and break it down so that the oven is easier to clean. Pyrolytic programmes run for a couple of hours and burn off all the grime in your oven at temperatures up to 500°C. As it gets so hot, the oven door usually locks so that all you need to do is sweep up the ash that’s left over at the end.
