+ This is a good quality AEG product. It heats up to the required temperature far quicker than initially expected.

- If you position the oven in the usual 'under counter' then the controls can be difficult to read when the knobs are extended out. The other annoyance is the way the grill semi locks onto the wire tray making it somewhat difficult to remove without tilting backwards. However, these are small issues when compared to the overall quality.

+ Good for baking, food stays moist and browns nicely. Oven looks good and is well made. So far, seems easy to clean.

- Only one bad point - the dial for setting temperature has the most common temperature settings shown at the bottom of the dial, which means you have to push in button and/or bend down to check you have set oven to correct temp. [Obviously that bit was designed by a man who's never actually used an oven, but other than that it's great. ;-)]

Conventional ovens heat from the bottom so the top of the oven will be slightly hotter than the bottom. This is useful when you’re cooking lots of different dishes at a time. However, they do take a little longer than fan ovens to heat up. Fan ovens circulate the air so that you get an even temperature throughout the oven. Self-cleaning ovens can come with catalytic liners or pyrolytic programmes. Calalytic liners are the bumpy surfaces which line the inside walls of the oven. They absorb the food and grease and break it down so that the oven is easier to clean. Pyrolytic programmes run for a couple of hours and burn off all the grime in your oven at temperatures up to 500°C. As it gets so hot, the oven door usually locks so that all you need to do is sweep up the ash that’s left over at the end.
