AEG-Electrolux Lavamat 16850

+ it's an exceptionally quiet machine - that was one of the main reasons for buying and it's surpassed expectations
the number of cycles is very impressive... especially features like the 20min (max 3kg) wash that is great for those last minute occassions. variable spin and the night time option are great features!
can't fault it so far!!

- when it starts spinning it sounds like it's about to take off; however that only lasts for a minute of so... the rest of the spin is relatively quiet.

+ Relatively easy to use, and much simpler than the instructions suggest.

- Instruction manual would be improved by simpler, clearer language and diagrams.

+ I love this washer drier :) It is quiet, washes clothes well, has lots of options for cycles depending on your wash load, delay start, pre-wash the list is endless!!! I have two children under 3 and a lot of washing, including terry toweling nappies and it gets all the washing clean as a whistle. My loads can be on the large side and the washing machine washes the clothes well. It has been a great buy and doing washing is now a delight!

- There is no rinse and spin only option (well there is but it can only be used if you pre-select it before you do the wash) It does take a while to dry items so allow yourself extra time if you are doing towels or a lot of clothes. Sometimes it is unclear what washing option you have chosen - it does display the time duration of the wash but displaying the number of option you have select would be helpful. I find myself counting as I turn the dial round! This is just a little bug bear!!!

1600 spin removes water extremely well.

- Drying times seem longer than separate dryer which I was used to.
Instruction book seemed complicated initially but soon became easy to navigate.

+ Very quiet, and is exceptional at washing and drying clothes. Large drum and has a handy delay feature. Chose this machine because it is rated the best Washer/Dryer by Which? magazine.

+ I bought the washer/dryer as lack of space for 2 seperate machines. It was a best buy from Which report and am very happy with it.Easy to use and quiet. Good wash results
Haven't used the tumble dry facility yet so can't comment

- The full wash programmes are rather long being about 2hrs. But can choose shorter options.

+ good all round performance with many good features. large wash / dryer load with excellent energy ratings.
