its easy to carry around the kids loved its small size. so we could go onto the internet at the time of the PC
It was hard to connect to the internet when we was using the re-router sat the same time as the main PC. In the end i took it back because some of the keys were mixed up, for example when you pressed "Speech Marks" there would be "?"

Low weight. Great screen. Build quality. Compiz Fusion compatible with Kubuntu.
Battery life. Restrictive Linux distro. Replaced with Kubuntu.

An excellent 'small cheap computer' - and a nice intro to Linux for the uninitiated... My AA1 slips easily into my bag, boots fast (~15sec), and everything works well. I added an 8Gb SDHC card for some extra storage space, as the native 8Gb drive is kind of small.
The fan can be a little noisy, and longer battery life would be good - even if this added 100g to the weight... Otherwise, I can't really fault this.

i have bought two of these models the first was for my teenage daughter and she thinks the computer was great . So i purchased another one on line for my wifes birthday . and they both like their computers because they are small and fits in their handbags

1) The Linux Linpus operating system has a relatively small footprint (compared to the bloat of Windows) and is quick to boot up. 2) The installed software is easy to use. 3) Can play most types of video without a hitch. 4) The Acer Aspire One is well-built and the keyboard is fine for adult fingers.
1) For a newbie, Linux can take a little getting used to and installing new software may cause a few headaches, but there are plenty of forums online to help the end-user. 2) The cpu fan, while not as noisy as that of a full-sized laptop's fan, is audible in a quiet environment

its neat and ideal for a woman on the go and very user friendly if you have children. it comes in moderate colours and for what i use my netbook for, i believe its value for money.
i am already looking into buying a battery as i find that i am constantly charging it up, why wont it hold its charge?

Best value for money netbook, great for any age, fast bootup for those "I just need to check something out quickly" moments, one of the biggest keyboards (touch typing is easy).
Mouse buttons on either side of trackpad (as opposed to usually being underneath) take some getting used too.

this device is so light weight and portable i can take it anywhere, in my backpack or satual. the keyboard is a decent size compared to other netbooks, and i would recommend it for students in particular. it has a decent batter time, and can be upgraded to a six cell batter if you need more battery time.
the design flaw in the acer one is really the touchpad, which is too small and thus frustrating and annoying to use and i recommend getting a small plug in mouse to remedy this problem. another thing that i disliked was the limpus lite interface. though this is entirely a personal preference. for those simply wanting to write up documents, or surf the web, its fine to use. if you wish to open up the acers full capabilities and use it like a real laptop, a few minuets surfing the web will show you how to open it up to use the real desktop environment

Great machine for internet usage whilst lying on the sofa, also great for use in the airport and whilst away. Light and easy to carry. Powerful enough for online video, perfect for email/ facebook etc.
Even though the screen is intentionally small it is a little frustrating to use. Its a little too small and could do with an extra inch or two. It is harder to read text on an 8.9" screen than you would expect meaning this machine is great but only in short bursts - any longer gives you eye strain.

Speed,slim,webcam fantastic quality
My only gripe is no parental controls pre installed, considering a bulk of these are aimed at the younger market.Im finding it impossible to get parent software to work with linux lite.

Excellent product. Operating system is simple, but does what it says on the tin. Mine was up and running with on my wireless network within minutes of switching on. Small hard drive size is not a problem for me, as I can just stream media from my other computer over the network. Perfect for browsing the internet without getting out of bed!
Linpus operating system is fine as it stands, but if you want to upgrade it / mess around with it, then you're better off with another operating system such as Ubuntu, but Ubuntu support for the wireless driver is patchy (seems to work for some people but not for others).

not the best version of Linux. Would have preferred Ubuntu with all codecs pre installed.

It's very small and light and boots very quickly. It looks attractive. It can do most things you would want to do on a Microsoft OS, eventually.
The linux OS takes time to get used to if you are a Microsoft user, it can occasionally seem quirky and long winded to do some things. The battery life is pretty poor. The fan can kick in and become noisy at times. The recovery CD-USB seems problematic - I had to get the machine restored using an external cd drive, the usb pen method did not work.

Very light, easy to use and ideal for web browsing
It hasn't got the intergrated HDPSA card, which integrated with the Linux operating system, would make a 3G web connection easy. This feature should come with it shortly and is worth waiting for.

It. Is. Awesome.
Not enough price difference to Windows model. Lacking bluetooth. Would be 10x better with Ubuntu Linux preinstalled instead.
