Much quieter than the Sony I had before. I needed an inexpensive replacement and that's exactly what I've got. Comes with 4GB. Has 4 USB ports. I don't play games so I can't say how good it would be for that. I use it for office type applications and general home / business use.

Comes with Vista! And no option to downgrade.

keyboard buttons pop off too easilly, track pad is just mad, darting off all over the place - usually a disable, re-enable fixes it though. battery life could be better, but upgrade batteries are available.

Has 4 Gb of ram but only comes with vista 32 instead of 64, so the 4 gigs is pointless and are not all used. Comes with too many useless acer programs that you cant get rid of

-
I wish I had left the protective cover on the top, as soon as I removed it fingerprints appeared and they stay there until you give it a good rub with a very soft cloth. There are no restore discs with it ( in case of need in its later life)

Not the most stylish laptop on the market, but what it doesn't have in street cred and fashion stakes it certainly makes up for in performance and quality. Excellent screen resolution. Easy to use and set up. Good value for money.
-
Microsoft office is only a trial version, would have liked the full programme to be included in the price of the lap top. Battery only lasts about an hour but not a major problem for me as i only tend to use at home anyway. I found the Acer inbuilt programme for internet connection was interfering with my mobile broadband dongle, but I have resolved this by turning it off.

Good performance with sleek casing. Fast, reliable nad just a solid laptop for all round needs.
-
My first laptop, so I cant really comment on battery life, but it'll last probably about over 2 hours on Power Saver which doesn't seem overly great.
The fan is on the bottom, so make sure you're resting it on a flat, solid surface otherwise it will overheat and shut down.
