nice design and easy to use.

the USB ports are all on the left hand side and the power point (to connect the cable) is on the right hand side.
Most people use a mouse with their right hand, so would want to plug a mouse in on the right hand side. need USB ports on both sides.

Good clear screen. Keys are good for touch typing - light and sensitive. Logging on to access the computer is quick. Easy to install new items e.g. printer,Norton security. As my first owned laptop it is very good and I am very pleased.

To open the laptop the catch is a little small and you have to take care when opening the laptop that it is sitting on a solid surface as when you open the machine it is a little top heavy.

Bios needs upgrading straight away to avoid an issue where the screen goes blank and locks up. Touchpad is very sensetive and scroll feature gets a bit irritating. Screen is wide screen so you may not like the aspect ratio.

An excellent choice for all but the most avid game-heads. The speed at which the unit operates is better than my desk-top that is almost the same specification (and cost well over twice as much) and the clarity of the screen is excellent. I purchased my AS5535 because I have had an operation and it will be six months before I can sit at my desktop again, and the specifications offered for the price was an unbeatable combination. The order was made with some trepidation, as the last laptop I used, some 7 or 8 years ago, was a disaster compared to my then pc, but all my fears have been for nothing - I'm now not sure if I want to go back to sitting in a dark corner with my pc - I'm quite happy with my laptop on my knee!!!
-
Slightly annoying, but nothing more, is that the mouse-pad is not central. I find that my hand wanders across to the centre of the laptop expecting the pad to be there, not off-centre to the left. As I said, a minor irritation that will settle with time.

From my previous experience with Acer lapops, I've found they can be quite slow at times. However due to the price for what I paid for and the specification, I opted to go for an Acer. The laptop can lag and does take about 6 or 7 seconds to actually start playing a song and I've found that the programs take sometime to open and often says not responding breifly. Laptop is also quite heavy. Theres also a pointless bluetooth button, but no bluetooth hardware. And no button to connect to the wireless.

It has silly 30 days free trial type stuff like McAfee that I can't figure out how to remove without accepting it and then deleting. I have bought my own internet security and daren't use it until I can figure out how to get rid of this silly McAfee stuff which slowed my old laptop to the point of severe frustration. I've also bought Microsoft Office, there's a free trial on this laptop for that too which I also have to figure out how to get rid of!!! I bought a decent sized hard drive for me to fill up - not you! With Demo games coming out of my ears that I can buy later etc, etc, etc, I'd rather this was simply a good laptop with a good version of widows, not just an opportunity for you to sell me the earth and every bolt on going!!!!
