I found the Acer Note Book great especially when set up for wireless inter-net around the house and traveling. with. Its less hassle than a lap top which after using my net book am considering in getting rid of now. As a Sports Coach I have all my coaching work on this and its very easy to carry around in my bag.
-
Just wish the battery life was a little longer than 3 hours, 5 hours would be ideal but then the net book wouldn't be as light to carry around!

Neat, compact, robust, reliable ( so far). Good wireless linkage, good speed, plenty of storage. Clear, sharp image.

Maybe could do with a longer life battery ( current one gives just over two hours) but presumably that would add to the weight.

A great little notebook for most home tasks and internet surfing. The small size and lightweight make it a pleasure to use all around the house and so easy to transport away from home.
-
The only sticking point is the relatively short battery life but when at home it is run from the mains more often than not. Also I am aware that a larger capacity battery is available to buy along with a dedicated DVD drive which would further enhance the machine.

Roxio is not comptible - Nero is (it's all down to the screen resolution).
Also, the voltage on the USB ports is not enough to run CD/DVD playback without a seperate power supply to the attached peripheral (even when the device says it will work form the USB it won't).

This 'Netbook' is great for taking with you in the car etc, it is very lightweight and extreamly portable. It seemed very very small when i first got this but you soon adjust and now my 15" laptop seems HUGE!
I have the 160gb 100ram version and it starts up and runs super fast which is what we all like so this is great!
-
The bad point would be that this is obviously not made for playing music and playing games on, I would only recommend this to somebody who needed it for Office and Internet Explorer (browsing) etc, I would not advise this to somebody who likes to listen to music whilst doing their work etc or likes to play more high graphic games than solitaire for example. The sound is very very poor, it just isn't for that job!

I bought the HD/WinXP version rather than the Flash/Linux one purely to use the same software on other machines. I've put Office 2007 on and it plenty powerful enough for that. The embedded WiFi is great and enables connectivity round the house. Also linkingup to my mobile for roaming internet was easy. Having a nearly full size keyboard is great. Although not really suitable for all day use it is certainly much better trying to do emails while travelling on a Blackberry.
-
No real bad points but you must bear in mind that the reduced size of the machine means a likewise reduction in battery size and hence gives you about 21/2 hours use. But if you want longer you have to have a bigger laptop and miss out on the benefits of this small machine. Although I was able to borrow a usb CDROM drive to load Office and mobile phone drivers, not having a drive may put off some buyers. For me I've now loaded what I need and that's that - easy, light weight and highly mobile connectivity.

Small, lightweight, fast and with the exception of a DVD drive every bit as good as any other laptop I've owned. It's very portable and quickly connects with wireless networks whilst on the move. Having owned a laptop which makes internet connection easy but is big to carry around and an IPod Touch which is light but difficult to use the very small screen, the AcerOne is the perfect compromise for people on the move.
-
I miss a dvd drive but usb sticks and external drives make up for this. The smaller screen takes a little getting used to but that's my age and eyesight. Overall, no real bad points

Laptop Buyers' Guide
Manufacturer's Description
Acer redefines mobile connectivity with Aspire one, the revolutionary netbook packed with fun and powerful computing features in a diminutive 8.9" form factor.
SmartStart in just 15 seconds
From the moment you switch it on, the Aspire one is ready to go in just 15 seconds (with Linpus™ Linux® Lite version). That’s what we call a smart start. Once on, the interface is pure simplicity: a home screen divided into four areas that contain all the applications you need to stay connected, work, play, and organize your life on the road. And as your Aspire one is as unique as the way you use it, you can customize the applications on the home screen so that it’s just right for you. Fast, simple and indescribably chic. That’s your new life with the Aspire one.
Vision: One idea
How big is perfection? How small is ideal?
The Aspire one has an 8.9” CrystalBrite LED backlit LCD with 1024×600 resolution and an integrated CrystalEye™ webcam that offers just the right balance between easy-toread clarity and easy-to-use functionality. You could almost call it the perfect fit.
Power: One energy
Power comes in many forms. Often the smallest is the most powerful. The Aspire one comes with the Intel® Atom™ processor, built with the world’s smallest transistors and designed specifically for low power consumption while delivering the power and performance you need for full online freedom.
Style: One look
Your style is your signature. It is your identity, your personality your calling card. Your style tells the world who you are and how you live your life, both online and off. It is all you need to be yourself. Your style comes in different colours, each with its own individual character. So does the Aspire one.
Feeling: One freedom
Smaller than an average diary and weighing less than 1 kilo (models with NAND flash module), the Aspire one puts freedom in the palm of your hands. Freedom to use WiFi, WiMAX and 3G Networks* to explore new ways to connect, communicate and interact with the world you care about. Freedom to go beyond ultra-mobility. Freedom to be yourself anywhere you want to.
(* depending on network readiness)
Experience: One control
The Aspire one has one of the most intuitive interfaces out there that takes just seconds to learn, and smart software that keeps you productive, entertained and connected all the time. Why? Because your online world is a very personal place that changes every time you connect but remains familiar because it’s a world you create. One interface, a whole world to discover. Why do it any differently?
