The top part is only held to the lower section by gravity, this means when you lift center locking part to bring the arms out, the entire top section comes out of the socket and you have try try to lift the arms up but hold the section down at the same time.
The top section doesn't spin so if there was a strong wind the arms would just bend.

+ Lightweight and easy to put up.
- Much smaller than I expected for the price, and the ropes are too close together to get much on it. It's also far too short to hang sheets on.

+ The airer has a good area capacity to hold 3 wash loads

The alliminum structure is flimsy, the first pole bent when putting it in the stake in the ground, which made it weak and eventually it snapped in half. The airer does not rotate when clothes are drying which does not dry clothes as quickly. The ropes have come loose on my replacement airer, which causes sagging and means it is not easy to peg clothes onto the ropes.
It is overall poor quality and sadly the worse airer we have ever used.
