Dyson DC23 Animal Reviews: , Cylinder, Bagless Vacuum cleaner

+ Gets the rugs really clean and picks up dog hair efficiently. There are plenty of attachments for every surface..

- It is heavy and awkward to store.

+ Very powerful & does exactly what it said it would do, light & easy.

- The older Dyson attachments do not fit on this & it would have been more useful if they were interchangeable.

+ Nice loking machine. Works well. Compact. Many tools for different purposes.

- Have 2 Dysons now - DC11 (since 2005) and DC23 Animal (2009). It appears that the DC11 is as good albeit a lot cheaper. Suction power of DC11 is the same as the DC23, if not better, even after 4 years. So, I'm not sure if I'll fork out the amount I paid for the DC23 Animal again. In the future, I may perhaps go for the cheapest model with a turbine head and HEPA filter.

- Couple of the tools had to be stored seperately so were never where you needed them!

+ This has an incredible suction and does what it says on the tin. It handles all the floor coverings well.

- It can be a nuisance ha vingto fold it all up and store it. the last Dyson we had you simply fixed the brush etc to the body and put it in the cupboard. This one you have to dismantle slightly and wrap the hose around and then stor it away.

+ Easy to use, with good results

- Doesn't lift pet hairs as well as I expected, leave alot behind in deep piled rugs

+ its great at picking up, i have 2 very hairy dogs, it works like a dream, easy to store away, i cant fault this machine

- FOR AN ELDERLY PERSON THIS MACHINE IS FAR TO HEAVY TO MOVE FROM ROOM TO ROOM.HAVING PURCHASED AN EARLIER DYSAN MACHINE 5 YEARS AGO I FIND THE NEW MACHINE AWKWARD TO MOVE AROUND WHERE STAIRS ARE INVOLVED

+ removes pet hair very well!!

- Quite big to store. And also very heavy!!

+ Good suction, picks up pet hair efficiently. The emptying system is easy and not as messy as other bagless vacs I have owned, the filters are sensibly placed so they are not a complete mess after every use (again this is based on my last bagless).

- Its too bulky and when the cord is all winded round I find it hard to stow away as my space isn't that deep. It is also really heavy to lift but once out its fine as you don't have to lift it again so only feel the weight of the arm.

+ The best vacuum cleaner I have ever had. I have 3 long haired cats and after having used other vacuum cleaners to get rid of the hair shed on the carpets I cannot believe what collects in my Dyson Cylinder. My carpets are properly clean after such a long time using inferior vacuum cleaners. Would recommend to anyone with pet hair problems.

- i find it quite hard to pull around . it doesnt move with ease .

+ I will only buy a Dyson...had one before this for 10 years...support by telephone and on the odd occassion when i needed to call out an engineer is excellent. Top notch company...Maybe James Dyson should run for Prime Minister!!!!

- The head doesn't fit under low pieces of furniture where our old dyson did.
