I bought this sewing machine for my 15 year old daughter who is taking textiles for GCSE. This is such a great machine. It is easy to use, has a very easy guide handbook with clear pictures, the machine has a numbered dial to choose the stitch required, there is an arrow system on the machine to show how and where to thread, the light under the machine helps with precision and the large push down lever at the front makes it easy to do a quick reverse stitch to each line of stitching. I can say enough about how good it is!
-
I haven't found any bad points yet! The lever to lift up the foot is different to mine so feels a bit awkward, but that's just me.

This is a very sturdy machine, with a range of useful stitches that will enable the average person to sew and mend virtually everything. There are some useful accessories included, a zipper foot, darning plate, spare bobbins, needles, button sewing foot and buttonhole foot etc. The machine has 14 pre-set stitches to choose from: including straight, zig zag, stretch, elastic and shell tuck and a 4 step automatic button hole stitch.
-
The only annoying thing I can find is the fact that the instruction booklet is in 4 languages on every single page - it takes a while to find the information you want, and in the correct language; other than that I am happy with my purchase.

coped with a medium thickness nylon fabric very easily ( fabric was doubled up, so 4 layers sewn together without problem) and the double stitching very easy to use. Very light and compact and easy to pack away. Bobbin winding easy, what you get with the kit is more than I expected, ie extra needles, dould stitch needle, extra bobbins. Good range of stitches. Easy to follow instructions. Overall very good price for agood quality machine, I was worried that it might not be able to cope with thicker fabrics but it can.
-
the only thing is that in the instruction booklet, the English sections are spread throughout the booklet mixed with other languages and not all together, but if you fing and highlight them then this saves time the next time you are looking up how to do something specific.

Very easy to use - everything where I expected it to be - little diagrams on the machine! Stitching quality good (set-up easy). Light but heavy enough not to move when in use. Nice long cable. Fantastic value for money - less than half the price of the comparable machine I bought over 20 years ago.

Extension arm slightly awkward to remove and no carrying case so it will have to live in the box. Vastly outweighed by good points.

I would recommend the machine to anyone starting out on basic dress making, curtain making etc, or someone like me, who is returning to sewing.

Not a major negative, but a handy carry case wouldn't go amiss. However, the machine sits safely and keeps dust free in its box just as easily - and I suppose I should really make a dust cover!
