Should I go for gas or electric?
Gas ovens and gas cookers are generally cheaper to run and they have a more moist cooking method so food doesn’t get as dry as it can in an electric oven. This makes them better for cooking cakes. However they don’t tend to cook as evenly as electric ovens and they don’t crisp or brown food on top.
Gas hobs also give you more control over your cooking but they’re not as easy to clean as an electric ceramic hobs.
Electric ovens are easier to turn on and they allow better control of the oven temperature. You’ll also be able to find more electric ovens on the market.
If you like the idea of both, then go for a Dual fuel cooker which has an electric oven and a gas hob.
But remember that to have a gas oven or hob, you’ll need a gas connection. If not, you may be restricted to buying an electric oven and hob.
My cooker is broken, how do I fix it?
If you are experiencing a fault with your product we advise that you always check with the retailer that you made your purchase from. Check your guarantee or extended warranty to see if they are still in effect.
If your product is no longer under guarantee try searching the internet or enquiring in a local shop to see if the problem you are experiencing is a common one. That way you can work out whether it’s worth repairing or better to save for a new product.
How do I leave a review?
When someone buys a product from one of our retail partners, we email them a brief questionnaire asking them what they think of the product they’ve purchased. We then publish the reviewer’s scores and comments on our website and our partners’ websites. More detail about how we collect reviews.
Our focus is on genuine reviews from real people, so, unlike other review sites, you can’t add a review unless you’ve purchased something online from one of our retail partners.
