Zanussi ZWF16070 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ Good variety of programmes, overnight timer is good with the spin/rinse hold. The wash quality is excellent and the clothes seem much cleaner and fresher than before.

- The filling and spinning of the machine is a little noisy. Especially the 1600 spin which just seems to keep notching up a gear and almost sounds like a mini jet engine when it does hit full speed. It does a great job though.

+ Quiet, efficient and delivers good results from the wash cycles

- Unlike my previous model which was also a Zanussi and had a very straight forward drain pump filter that could be cleaned easily, this model has a very complex arrangement with a drain tube that is not easy to access and even harder to drain properly, leaving me to believe that over time I can expect a pump failure

+ very very quiet and leaves the clothes nearly dry after the big spin

- really really long cycels - even the time saver options take 40 minutes up to an hour, for me time saver is 20 mins!

+ Does what it says on the tin, easy controls, simple settings (although lots of others if you want to mess), but I always find you only use one or two on a regular basis. Clothes come out almost dry. Very pleased with it.

- not used to the length of time a wash takes compared to old machine, but that I'm told is to do with the reduced amount of water, when comparing wash times all the AAA rated ones seemed to have much longer times in general.

+ Seems an efficient machine and much quieter than my previous washing machine.

- No timer display, so difficult to work out how long the cycle has left to run, but only a minor detail.

+ high spin speeds gets clothes almost dry before hanging or tumble drying

- some cycles can be a bit long especially when you have a number of loads to wash.

- eco wash - takes ages and is not a great clean - will never use it so whats the point

+ Large capacity drum size is great, peace of mind re; energy efficiency, and we cannot hear it at all from our utility room.

- Some cycles seem to take an age, and no indication as to how far through a cycle you are, or much much longer until the end of a cycle is a bit irritating. Having said that, it's so quiet, I can now put it on overnight without bothering anyone!

+ Excellent build quality, easy to use. The 1600 rpm sin means that the washing comes out almost dry. Is very quiet when on the wash cycle. The 3/6/9 hour delay timer is very simple to use.

+ Easy to use & it does exactly what it says on the tin! Triple-A rated, not too noisy and the super quick wash is under an hour so perfect for every day use - no need for the longer wash.

- Could do with a 30 degree synthetics setting. Also the synthetic setting doesn't offer a 1600 spin.

+ Delay cycle start by 3,6 or 9 hours -put it on before you go to bed and it will start in the morning even if you forget. It also has a night mode which doesn't spin so you can use it whilst you sleep and just spin it in the morning.
Wide opening makes it wasy for loading unloading.
Like the program for washing trainers - very useful!

- If you don't reset the dial between loads you have to press the start button twice - a couple of times I've gone away thinking I've started it only to come back to a load of dirty clothes!

+ Delighted with this product. Particularly like the intensive wash option, extra rinse for soft water areas and hand wash cycle. Also like the sport shoes cycle. I have noticed an improvement in the whiteness of "whites" already.

+ Washed clothes look good, we have not had any problems yet - we had this washing machine for four months now. It has many different programmes, which is fantastic and it is not too noisy either. Also there is a timer, where you can select the time when you want your clothes to be washed (start washing in 3, 6, 9 hours). I do recommend this washing machine.

- The only thing I don't like is that there is no half load option available, but I am happy with this product.

+ So far it's been reliable and it certainly gets the clothes clean. The spin speed is excellent and it isn't too noisy. The quick wash facility is very handy.

- The 40 degree eco wash just takes for ever - possibly the longest wash cycle on the planet. I also prefer a hot fill machine as cheaper gas heats the water rather than expensive electricity.

- The programmes are too long. I mostly use the programme that uses the least water, but it is over an hour long using up more energy. This programme also has the lowest spin speed so I need to run the spin programme after the wash programme has finished

+ High spin speed so low drying time. Lots of programmes (more than I need) but includes handwash, which seems to work well. I chose Zanussi to go with my dryer - pleased with the features I got for the cost.

- Very long wash cycle on eco setting - seems to take forever. No environmental info (energy and water consumption) on short wash option.
A bit noisy when in final spin - but this may be a consequence of high spin speed.

- Doesn't have an audible signal to let you know when the cycle is finished.

+ Clothes do come out almost dry on 1600 spin cycle and clean

- no way of telling how far into the cycle you are. Keeps pausing and you think it is at the end of cycle only for it to start again!

+ The washing machine is, in some respects, good value for money. It performs its main function satisfactorily i.e. that of washing clothes, and is quite attractive in appearance.

- What lets it down is the noise - when it starts spinning, it makes more noise than the twenty-year old washing machine I have just thrown away! If the purchaser has a big house, or is oblivious to noise, then I would recommend this machine.

+ This machine has lots of great cycles and the time delay function is so useful to make use of the cheaper electricity. The pause button is also great if you quickly realise you need to add some thing else. It is a lovely machine and so far ( 2 weeks in!) I am very pleased.

- The only thing I would say is I miss not having a 'time-saver' button where you can run ANY type of programme quickly. There is however, a mini 30 wash which washes in 30 minutes at 30 degrees.

- No indication of which part of cycle has been reached or is in operation. No part load facility which I really wan ted but realise probably no less water could be used. Quick wash isnt the same as part load because it isnt as thorough. Would like to know whether I can use a dosing ball for the detergent as only filling the dispenser is mentioned.

- moves from position when a 1600 spin - could be the floor though

+ Simple controls & can change program, open door etc after it starts (within reason).

- No time remaining display (dont think any others in price bracket have this either), washes can take a long time but gets clothes clean.

+ 30 min quick wash is great for lightly soiled/small loads or when in a hurry.
1600 spin gets the vast majority of water out - I really notice this stepping up from my previous 1000rpm machine.
Very good value for money.
