+ Simple controls and easy to select the desired wash cycle. Large door opening and higher wash load capacity are both first rate.

- Noise level at 1400 rpm spin cycle is higher than expected. Hate the auto half load function. This would be better manually selected.

+ Automatically works out the amount of water needed depending on how many clothes you put in.
extra rinse, very good for sensitive skin.
reasonably quick cycles
easy to use

- beeps very loudly for an unnecessarily long time. 6 sets of 3 slow beeps. Even at night it does 3 sets of 3 slow beeps. Very annoying, only way to stop them is turn the machine off.

+ Very easy to use, very quiet, wonderfully large drum, wide choice of type of wash and temperature, timer showing how long each programme takes, great value for money.

- Can't run a fast final rinse cycle separately, slightly too many programmes which seem to repeat themselves, making it confusing on which ones to use.

- The compartment for washing powder/tablets is a little bit 'tight' for tablets but this is a very minor negative point. The machine does the job required and has an excellent spin facility.

+ This is a great machine for the money. Nice big drum, simple controls, countdown timer and quieter than our last (admittedly very old) machine. Like most, we rarely use more than one or two programs and do at least one cycle every day - the Zanussi is a good solid workhorse for busy families.
