Good points:: Brilliant! Small and compact, ideal if space is at a premium. Nice and quiet, and reverse action is good. My last one had no reverse, so drying large items like sheets was a pain, having to take them out, untangle them, then start again. This is great, much quicker.

Good points:: A great, compact dryer, and much more efficient than the larger one we had when the family was young. The height allows me to slide the laundry basket in under the untility room work-top. I find the drying times work out slightly less than stated. That may be that I do not fill it to capacity. I would definitely recommend spending that bit extra to purchase the reverse-action model. This avoids having larger items like bedding did themselves up into a tight little bundle, and still wet inside while over-dried outside, as happened to me previously.
Bad points:: There is rather a lot information on the front, which could at least be printed in a paler colour. I do not really need a union flag and the announcement that it was made in Britain printed proudly on the front. I know - that's one reason for buying it.

Vented dryers have a hose which transfers the waste, damp air out of the machine and through a hole in the wall or a window to the outside. They are less expensive than condenser machines but the hose means they need to be placed by an outside wall. Condenser machines collect the excess water within the machine which can then be emptied after use. They therefore do not need a hose and can be placed anywhere in the house.
