+ Excellent value for money

- Not enough shelves but i used the old ones from our last Whirlpool fridge

+ I find it is very roomy - much more so than my previous one. The temperature control seems good too - although I have only had it a few weeks. It seems to be the same temperature all over. Also very quiet running - so far!

- I don't really have any bad points - I don't think it is quite a sturdily build as my previous one which was 10 years old. We did find the fixings for the door front were quite complicated and it could have been simplified considerably. My son, who is a carpenter, fitted the fridge in and the door front on - it really needed somebody that knew what they were doing!

- 1 extra small shelf would useful

+ The door storage is excellant.

- Not the cheapest, however, I decided it was a good brand name.
I have not yet decided why there is only half a shelf over the salas draws.

- No enough storage in door for more than one tall bottle/container

+ it was just the size i needed to replace my old intergrated frige;

- only problem with the intergrated fridge is the changing of the door .

+ we find this appliance very good for the money , its got more space than the average free standing fridges, and the temp is lot better

- Packaging to thin, does not protect appliance.

+ Good design overall although it could with another full shelf. I have used one out of my old fridge. The bottle shelf in the door is a complete bucket shape so any liquid spillage does not seep out of the bottom as on my previous fridge.

- The easy fit door is not easy fit! It took about an hour to fit.

+ Keeps cold on low setting. Food and liquids keep fresher longer. Nice size for integration under worktop. Quiet when running.

- Fitting instructions are in diagrams only, which are impossible to follow. Written instructions needed too. Bottom shelf is only half shelf so fridge description should read two and a half shelves, not three. Drop down compartments in the door cannot be used when tall containers eg., milk containers are placed in bottom compartment of door.

+ I had researched larder fridges quite thoroughly before finding the Whirlpool 581. I was very pleased with the product as soon as it was installed...I knew I had made the right choice for our needs.

- It was a little tricky to install but with the help of my son we soon had it up and running.

+ large capacity for under worktop fridge. Flexible door storage area.

- Replaced another whirlpool refridgerator with this one. Found it impossible to change the door round from left opening to right opening. Also the fittings have been moved which made it difficult to refit the cupboard door. Got round it but it would have been better if they kept the fittings in the same position to help when replacing like for like.

+ Excelent value for the money. Compared to other makes Whirlpool take some beating. We have another fridge and freezer of the same make and have had no problems with them.

- Pictorial instructions for the door mountings only pictorial. There are various options to mount the front kitchen door panel, it takes a bit to fathom which suits. Once sorted the system works well

+ This is my first integrated fridge, so I was concerned about storage space. There is plenty of space inside.

- too few shelves. the bottom one , being a cover for the baskets is unsuitable as a shelf. luckily we were able to re-use a glass shelf from our old fridge.
while a good price re similar items its price is far and away too high in comparison with stand alone fridges which are better finished, more decorative and 'complete'.

+ Design means space inside for 4 large boxes containing hibernating tortoises. Multiple testing proves temperature inside is stable at 5 degrees +/- 1 degree.

- the shelves in the door are too short to put a bottle of wine in ,and you can't move the shelves above when it was delivered, it was covered in plasticy paper which apparently is the insulation, but it didn't make this obvious the instructions about how to put the legs/ door cover on were very poor

+ It fits in the space we had, I like the shelves and the door space and as far as I can tell the door hinges seem strong (the fridge that came with our fitted kitchen always had a poorly fitting door, and did not seem strong enough to support the panel on the front)

+ Fitting the kitchen door to the fridge was simple, more simple then the last door I had to fit. It's quiet but compared to my old fridge a tracktor is quiet.

+ I am very pleased with the fridge. It was reccomended as a "best buy" on the Which site and so far I can't fault it. It seems very surdy, is extremely quiet and has much more storage space/capacity than my last undercounter fridge.
