Price to perfomance ratio was also a good reason to buy.

- I usually keep it set on power saver mode because the battery doesnt seem to last long enough, but mainly because of the big bright screen.

+ size of screen and ease of use with windows vista which i was surprized its a nice sleek style colour is good keyboard and arrow pad have a good feel about them

- load up is a time thing it takes a while but i tihnk at the moment it has a lot of things on start up as i'm starting it up as it came and the only thing that bothers me is that i went onto thinking that i had it then to find out that i need to register and pay this was on both i had bought but thinking on the price i had paid not going to get something for nothing so both the laptops i hade bought are really good for money but could have done with some free software app's never mind

+ It is good value for money with 250GB n 2GB RAM, I get a huge 17" screen.

- Except for the laptop being a bit heavy, I dont have any concerns.

+ Its easy to use. I bought this for my husband and he has never used a computer in his life!

- It has a few annoying features, like if your on a screen and accidentally 'hover' too long over something else (maybe because you are reading it) it takes you to that page, but thats down to Vista. Personally I prefer XP

+ So far I am enjoying the experience of getting to know my new "friend "- Windows Vista can be a bit awesome with the things it can do or tries to do on your behalf - without prompting or so it appears.It is too early yet for me to make a full assessment but I am impressed overall.

- Everyone's reviews I've read so far goes on about battery power - this should be improved as standard immediately with this model.I do not find the Toshiba Recovery Reminder at all helpful - I can't seem to get into the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator but it is early days! I keep trying whenever I have the time.

+ Works really fast. Love the design. Definitely value for money!

- Tad heavy but nothing that would have put me off buying a 17". Batttery life a little short but again not terrible and certainly not a reason for me not to have purchased.

- No major issues, slight niggle with the left button for selecting (i.e. the left 'mouse' button) this sometimes clicks of it's own accord.

+ Very nice laptop, bought it to replace home computer - ideal - quiet, large screen and fairly good battery life.

- Did have a problem with a sticky key on first use and returned after a couple of weeks for repair - all done with no hassle and no trouble since.

+ This is the first laptop that I have owned so it is difficult to compare. It's good to keep an eye on the kids while on the computer as they can use it in the living room while we are all together rather than in the dinning room where the desk top is sited.

- I'm fed up with Microsoft changing their operating systems all the time, you just get comfortable with their products then they go and change them, but they don't use standard formats. If I were to use the analogy of a car, I would always expect to find the steering wheel in front of me when I sit in the driving seat!
