+ Honestly you will not go wrong with this television, there's not one thing bad against it, amazing picture especially when using xbox 360 with hdmi, sound is far better than any other tv I've owned, also I've found its not a major dust collector which is nice! (Power button to turn off is a nice novelty) Game mode, film mode etc etc its great!!

- Only down side is the freeview is not digital ready, so when the switch does come you'll have to use digital through some other device (freeview box, sky etc)

+ Was easy to set up, fairly lightweight so I can transport it myself but seems robust enough. Picture is very good and has been easy to adjust colour etc to my preference. Nice sleek design, doesn't look out of place in my bedroom, and I'm really getting on with it.

- Menu hasn't had a great deal of thought put into it, looks a bit shabby and is sometimes hard to decipher where to find sinple things like the picture ratio. In terms of displaying films etc with different screen ratios there is sometimes a bit of a problem - one film for example could fill the screen well but then the subtitles for the foreign sections were cut off at the bottom - not very useful!

+ Everything! HD DVDs and PS3 games look stunning, the freeview tuner is simple and has a easy to use interface. Obviously being such a high resolution, the images may look a bit strange close up, but it still looks fantastic!

- Can't think of any, except the model number. I ordered the 32XV505DB, but was sent a 32AV505DB, probably because the numbers looked so similar they picked the wrong one for the order!

+ Good Design.(see note re Silver/Black) Easy to set up and use

- It was not clear in the info before I purchased the TV that this model has a silver trim around the edge. This is fine for me but may not suit everyone. It is described on the carton even as "Gloss Black" not "Silver/Black"

+ Reasonable picture quality.
1:1 pixel mapping with PC connected via HDMI at 1920x1080.
No annoying buzzing noises from backlight that earlier models suffered from.

- Connections at back of set should face downwards to enable mounting as flush to the wall as possible.

+ Love the bulid quality of this LCD, Design & Price, plus easy setup. Fantastic picture & sound quality when used with Xbox 360! A Great purchase!!

- Sound is a bit boomy for me, picture can be a little fuzzy on some programs, but I think this is down to broadcasting more than the TV's abilities. Still getting to grips with the manual!

+ Excellent price in comparison to others on the market that are more expensive and are not even 1080p! Not the mention the god awful Goodmans etc and those with a contrast ratio of 1500:1!
Have not really had it up loud but u would probably need a good system for basey / really good sound....I cant have surround sound as i am part deaf and it leaves me running aroud the room to find the main speaker lol

- my credit card has an even bigger balance!
nothing else, really chuffed!

+ Stunning Design! Absolutely georgous picture when used with a 1080p source, sound ok for a tv that doesnt even look like its got speakers!! Love the way it remembers each channels setting seperately, (colour, contrast, sharpness etc). Nice swivel stand and very sturdy considering. Well Happy ;-)

- Ive had to think really hard for this.. the built in freeview looks a bit cheap on the menu's and isnt digital but anologue so you would need a freeview box using scart/hdmi for the switchover.
Also, you cannot fix this up flush against a wall due to the connection types sticking out the rear, a bracket is your answer if wall mounting is your question.

- Sound can be a bit distorted on the bass occasionally but we usually run it through the Surround sound!

Expert reviews for Toshiba 32XV505D

TechRadar expert review

The Toshiba 32XV505DB's slim and elegant bezel is befitting of its lofty status in the Regza flatscreen hierarchy. This new XV panel comes in at just a little more than its equivalent model in the AV range, but ups the resolution from 720p to 1080p status and ramps up the dynamic contrast ratio to a remarkable 30,000:1.Nice priceAt ¬£600, it's a reasonably affordable Full HD panel. It comes with a neat table stand and a user-friendly remote control that looks very similar to the Sony zapper. The onscreen graphics are pin-sharp and easy to navigate, so starting the auto setup to tune th…
