+ easy to use, absolute must for city areas and people who travel the uk

- some newer roads not updated quick enough

+ Excellent system, my 19yr old daughter who is NOT really computerr literate set it up and installed it in her car and uses it comfortably.

- I wish it was cheaper, but then again you pay for what you get!

+ Stress free journeys.Clear instructiuons. Gets you back on track when you miss a turn or make a mistake.

- The holder which sticks by suction to the windscreen may not suit all vehicles. Check before you buy.

Bright and easy to read display, Bluetooth support for the Traffic and other TomTom "Plus" services (no handsfree like the 500 & 700 models though),

Loud and clear sound from the speaker,
Availabilty of free Speed Camera database and other points of interest.

- Size - unit is a little too bulky to carry around when removed from the car.
Poor signal in cars with heat reflective windscreens (a problem not unique to the Go), but to fix this the only option is Tomtom's own and very expensive external antenna.
No AC adapter supplied with this model.

+ I found the Tom tom 300 user friendly and asy to operate. I couldn't have managed my new job without it.

- The wires are a little annoying and I have to hide the screen and stand for fear of theft.

+ Very easy and fast to set up and use.
If you deviate from the planned route it recalculates alternative very rapidly.
Takes only a few seconds to install or remove.
Display is very clear and enables better reading of the road ahead.

- Manual is very basic so practice is needed for more complcated procedures.

+ Easy to use - Excellent postcode finder, does exactly what it says it will do!

- Sometimes takes time to find GPRS signal, although you can upgrade to a stronger arial

+ So easy to use. You don't have to even look at it whilst driving as you get voice instructions. It's the best thing I've bought for a long time...

+ I find it easy to use but you need to take a little time to get used to it.

+ easy to use, pretty self explanitory. Fantastic when you take the wrong route as updates to where you are quickly.

- suction onto windscreen is a not always good. think there is some sort of sun screen additional product you can get which would be worth buying as sun glare can obscure vision of the screen. Can take a couple of minutes to identify where you are. Doesnt always show the quickest route but the easiest, which you shouldnt need if you are following the TomTom directions.

Directions innaccurate, to the extent that some are very dangerous for someone who does not know the area (which is why one purchases such an item)

+ I've seen lots of other SatNavs and as yet none have beaten this designated unit - yes, PDA versions are convenient but often jerky!

- Difficult to define "Home" in my village, which lacks street names and house numbers.

+ Very easy to use.

- Should come with AC charger. Car charger looks ugly when spawling across the dashboard. The map is not particularly up to date. There are some roads which I often use that are not on the map.

+ Touch screen functionality good, no buttons to find.
Screen size and clarity.
Can even use it for walks.

- Size and shape, although no bigger than a camera.
Pity no one makes a cradle that would stick to the top of a dashboard.

+ I have recently moved to a new area of the country and the Tom Tom has been invaluable in helping me get around. The advanced warnings of approaching junctions allows you to get into the correct lane in plenty of time.

- The only down point is that the Tom Tom can occasionally lose signal on some minor/country roads which can be a bit frustrating.

+ Very easy to use, convenient size. My husband is hard of hearing but he can hear the sound without problem.

- Tom Tom web site not easy to navigate unable to find out if UK map update is available for purchase, techincal response is very slow see problem below

+ Highly effective and easy to use interface, very clear and precise sound in all environments (motorway and slow speeds), extra services such as TomTomPlus offer live and up-to-date traffic information.

+ Even more useful than we imagined, easily transfered to all the family cars. suprisingly useful in your own town for appointments etc, just ask for postcode & house No. Downloads easily available for speed cameras, hotels, etc.

+ when you take a wrong turning it offers clear instructions to get you from the new location to your destination

- battery life could be longer - means quite often you need to have it on charge whilst driving with dangling cables to the cigarette lighter

- the chip in original purchase was faulty had to be sent back to tom tom to be replaced.

- Some instuctions could be clearer, and made more. IE It told me to exit to the right off a motorway, there was no exit to the right so I kept to the right and missed the exit. It should have said, exit the motorway and then take the right.

+ The touch screen is just so easy to use no sub menus to go through! Just plug in and go it really as easy at that! You can even downdload where speed camara and traffic light camaras are from the internet.
