Tesco Home & Office 16L Executive Cross Cut Shredder

+ cross shredding excellent, visibility of being able to see level of shredded material, nice shape.

- nothing so far apart from my wife doing too much shredding in one go, burned out the motor, only had the shredder few weeks, and had to replace it. Make sure you tell your wife about the possibility of burning the motor!!!

+ It has a large bin and so able to store a lot of paper before becoming full (obviously). It has paper, credit card and CD shredder functions, and each of these work very well.

- The only bad point is the size (which is also a good point). It is about the same size as an office waste paper basket, and so you need space to store it.

+ Looks good and works well

- the machine cuts out after 5 minutes of continual use and machine gets too hot and you need to wait for 30 mins for it to start again

+ its cheap

- does not shred 10 sheets like it says

+ It does what it says on the tin! Nice looking as well.
With my old shredder I used to have to save up all my paperwork and shred it in one go, but with this one, it sits perfectly well under my desk and I shred as I go. I am very pleased with this purchase. I would recommend this to anyone.

+ I have had three previous shredders. and this 16L executive shredder while not the dearest of those I have bought is by far the best..... it does just what it says on the box, and does it to perfection.
But from previous use of shredders I would advise against shredding ten pages at a time.......while this particular machine can do this .it does obviously put a load on the motor,,,, personally I would shred four/or six.......in doing this it will last a lifetime.......... I also don't see the need for not taking out paper clips ....these come in different thicknesses and can cause unnecessary and unwanted problems with even the best shredder

- Still waiting for the bad point to show itself and think this to be unlikely

+ Easy to use, and I like the point that you can see when the bin gets full. I recomend anyone to buy this product.

- Just a bit noisey, and needs a little more space than other shredders with it being larger.

+ easy to see when the bin is full. Provided you stick to the rules and do not use it over a prolonged period it is ideal. I have been a hoarder of paper over the years but a few days work has shredded all my sensitive material.

- Cannot think of one. Highly recommended given its price.

- The shredder can overheat if you are prone to overworking it, which means you have to wait for it to cool down before you can continue but you would expect this from any shredder at this price.

+ simple and the shreddings go on the compost heap!

- only takes a few sheets at a time, but that's fine for our use.

- Oval, oblong shape would be better to fit against cupboards or walls

+ shreds paper to tiny bits can also see through basket for when it is full and needs emptying,also good value
