+ Small footprint. Allows use of external aerial for DAB. Good volume level for the size. Allows recording to USB stick.

- None really.

+ This is an extremely solid piece of equipment, the sound via FM, DAB or CD is perfect. The remote control is extremely handy, as is the USB port which allows the ability to download directly to an MP3 player.

- My only slight quibble is that the power output is not huge (25 watts per channel), so I often find myself listening with the volume dial cranked up quite high. Having said that, i have not noticed any distortion in the sound, so it is only a minor inconvenience.

+ Set up with Sub and small speakers, with aux out to second older TEAC in adjoining room running to Mon. Audio Baby's. Both rooms sound good, sub gives main room the edge. Plays everything well, USB port is excellent feature and reason to buy. Disappointed it is not USB2, so design is already dated. Have not set up DAB yet so cannot assess radio. Overall very happy with unit, there may be better, but probably not around this price with these fascillities.

- Have not found any yet, early days, but I am reasonably confident the TEAC will perform ok

+ compact unit that combines DAB, CD, MP3 capabilities nicely. Impressed with ability to connect external units, especially through the USB port. The recording function through the latter is excellent.

- remote button layout not perfect

+ Loaded with features, more than enough inputs, good sound quality and attractive design. I'm wary of all-in-one audio but combines all I need in a pretty solid unit - a real space saver and better than the sum of its parts. Controls can be confusing but most buttons serve many purposes so familiarity makes things easier.

- None really but I haven't put it through any great tests. CD tray seems flimsy and USB file limit (2000) may disappoint but that's being picky. Settings are lost eventually but not for short term disconnection.

- Sound quality not as good as I expected but I did downgrade from a much more powerful amp so not fair to compare.

Score 8.0/10

+ Good sound, huge set of features - best bit is the fact that it will convert whatever you put through it to mp3 which you can save to a usb stick - so you can record off digital radio - and best of all, you can convert your vinyl to mp3 - which is the reason I bought it. Superb unit. It's not top of the range hi-fi separates performance but it's still sounds excellent.

- Not many, there's a sort of grill on top of the unit designed to let it breath I suppose - just looks a bit ugly when you sit it on top of your sideboard. Also, not really the unit's fault but I had to preamp my turntable before it went into the unit to get any sound out of it - it would have been absolutely brilliant if it amplified the input from the turntable, but you can't have everything.

Score 9.0/10

+ It does everything I wanted plus more, at a sound quality which is better than I expected.

- the only one I can find is the limited number of mp3 files it can handle (about 1900) - no great hardship!

Score 7.0/10

+ Lots of features for the money. Smart looking unit. USB interface is a good feature: I synced my .WMA music collection using Windows Media Payer to an 8 GB memory stick and it plays no problems at all.

- The user interface for selecting each input source and a file on the USB interface is a bit clunky. Music from the DAB radio and USB interface sounds a bit thin (could be because it’s compressed?)
